Just read that the shooter of the Dayton, Ohio incident was wearing The Acacia Strain merch. Vincent posted in regards to it, saying they do not condone anything in regards to what happened or of the like, and that they’re doing what they can to help the victims families.

So unbelievably sad.

 

I wonder if he’ll lay off the misanthropic lyrics for any future music. His writing is pretty bleak.

 

He addressed this onstage at every show for the past few years. He’s been making strides to talk self help and to recognize music as an outlet. Talks about being more positive than he was in his twenties when he was in a dark place. Bleakness aside, lyrics/music is no excuse or valid reason for murder.

 

Using music of any kind to blame an attack is absurd and it’s used as a distraction from the true causes. I remember this happening during Columbine with Marilyn Manson, it was wrong then and it’s wrong now. People need to stop finding non-related scapegoats when this shit happens, it’s absurd that people cry foul at media or lack of prayer in schools as causes and not at lax gun laws or the toxic elements in our society.

 

I’m not suggesting any responsibility whatsoever, I’m just curious as to how he might view playing something like the intro to the Beast in light of what happened.

Have us nerds talked about this album here yet? Because this might be the best new doom/trad metal album I've heard so far this year. I like it even more than the new Traveler.

Song is ok; production on it however is pretty stellar. Bass, guitars, drums, vocals - all sound crisp and clear, front and center

 

That song, especially along with the video, gives me serious s/t thru Iowa vibes. I dig it.
