You should be pretty safe as long as you don't go to the mall, or to the store, or to a concert, or to a church, or to work, or to school, or to a hospital, or to a movie theater, or to a restaurant, or to a night club, or to college, or to the post office, or to a food festival, or to a sporting event, or to a municipal building, or to a military base, or take public transportation, or walk down the street, or be inside of your home.......

Anymore I find myself looking for exit signs as soon as I enter a store or venue or building to know where they’re at

The ballots are due on Tuesday.

some of this is definitely due to more engagement from older people. But also I think a big part is millennials like to procrastinate.

I saw Thrice with my buddy during their reunion tour on June 12, 2016...the night of the Pulse shootings. They played at the House of Blues located in Disney Springs, which was the original target of the shooter before he changed his mind. Ever since that night, there isn’t a show, a movie, or large event that I go to where I don’t think about how it could happen to me and my family. I’m fed the fuck up.

I was a freshman in high school when Columbine happened. For the remaining three years there, if I was bored in class and my mind wandered, I’d try to figure out the best route to escape in any given classroom I was in if I heard shooting. I’ve been dealing with this bullshit for 20 years.

This shooting is devastating. I already have anxiety about one of my family members, specifically my dad, being the victim of a hate crime espesh being Latino in a white rural conservative area that already has Keep America Great signs in their yards. I don't rly have words rn but this feels so personal.

Another person who is super conscious of exits and anxious about shootings at any concert/movie/event checking in. I almost always try to stand at the end of the barricade for tons of reasons, and I realized a while ago that being near a stage door or emergency exit is actually a pretty big one. I’m so exhausted by having to live this way.

Yeah pretty much anytime someone walks into a movie after the beginning, I immediately get ready to grab my gf and get down and cover her up. Unless there is an exit near, then I just get ready to cover her as we run to an exit

I’m guessing from a tweet someone posted earlier the Texas governor warning Antifa not to come to El Paso a couple days ago in a planned gathering over the treatment of border crossers. Mike sounds like he’s insinuating the gunman is Antifa.

Literally every single time my wife and I go to a movie (which is rare these days with little kids) as soon as we sit down she always turns to me and says, “okay so what would be our strategy to get out?”

It kills me how serious a question it is.

  19. Feel like I can open to this thread and it’s relevant to the conversation. I’m definitely struggling with anxiety recently and recognizing that I might need to see a professional. If anyone has gone through this and would be willing to talk, it would be super appreciated

Definitely see a professional and try all the little methods for dealing with it that he/she suggests. Since my anxiety centers around the impending doom/death/health issues, the repeated reminders that it’s just anxiety and I’m not dying tend to help me.

I hate meds but I will take one of my xanax’s if I absolutely need to. Like I’m probably gonna have to take one on the first day of school since new situations where I feel like I’m the center of attention and can’t “escape” get my anxiety up(nothing like being responsible for a classroom full of teenagers for that!). So even if you hate meds, don’t be afraid to take one once in a while if you have to. I refuse to do it often though because I don’t want to get addicited.

Just this past week got into CBDs, it’s a temporary fix but effective.

I can't really help because I've had severe anxiety pretty much my whole life so I can't really be like this is how you pinpoint when you need help and need to start the process, just I guess acknowledge that it's scary but you're not alone and people are there to help you
