Does anyone actually enjoy his act? Fitting he's main eventing a card that starts at 3pm or whatever.

I’ll be in attendance on Saturday.

Why is the card so early?

This was the one that was supposed to be overseas, so ESPN already had the afternoon slot blocked out and wanted to keep it.

Ah, interesting. Don’t think that’s ever happened with a fight card before.

  6. Beautiful sight. Cain is such a superstar in Mexico.

He makes his wrestling debut this weekend I believe

DJ and Eddie fight again in a couple hours!

Wow. Eddie's fight wasn't pretty until the very end but he did it. What a reversal. DJ had a pretty tough match too.

Yeah I have off from work every other Friday so I'm able to watch the fights this morning. I'm surprised Eddie was able to turn that fight around. Great recovery from him. The DJ vs Wada fight was very close. The 3rd round definitely won the fight for DJ.

Haven't seen any of the ONE fights, but it sounds like DJ and Eddie's fights were pretty similar to last time out except Eddie actually won. haha.

Glad to see them have successful outings, but I'd say at this point it's pretty clear that the fighters over there are no joke. Just underrated around here because we're not as familiar with them.

I've been following ONE a lot recently. I like how they promote all of their fighters. I've been watching their Muay Thai as well. Flyweight Championship fight is going down right now.

I don't know all the rules of Muay Thai but it seems like they allowed to clinch longer than kickboxing? Either way I find it very entertaining. The kicks and elbows from these guys are insane.

I have an overwhelming feeling that Robbie is going to get a brutal KO this weekend. I can't even watch so I don't really care, but I'm just really leaning that way. haha.

The rule sets by sport and promotion vary, but generally Muay Thai allows for longer clinch work, giving fighters the opportunity for throws, sweeps, elbows, etc. Compared to Glory, or the old K-1 rules, where clinching is limited and elbows/throws/sweeps not allowed.

For example, when I spar, if we have elbow pads on we go full Muay Thai rules with elbows allowed. The tactics definitely change, and that's what separates fighters at the highest levels, but it's like comparing American and Canadian football. Both have subtle differences in the rules, but not so drastic that someone who's talented enough can't switch between the two without much difficulty.

Very informative, thank you. You can tell just by watching how the tactics in Muay Thai and Kickboxing are quite different. The big gloves allow for much more protection. And those Muay Thai elbows are crazy.

I like how ONE is using the smaller gloves for striking matches, it's a nice wrinkle.

Just got caught up with the ONE card. Some great fights that weren’t Alvarez or DJ. For Alvarez, he looked very well conditioned and held up well under pressure. He didn’t really let any strikes land when he got taken down by the leg kick, and brought back some of his good grappling game. Great win for him after his last loss.

All I want tomorrow is for Robbie to take Colby’s head clean off, in the most violent way possible.

Would love to see Convington go for a leg off the bat like Askren, then get picked up and SLAMMED. One can only hope. I have faith in Robbie.

As much as it pains me, I think Colby handles business. Hoping I'm wrong. Shout out to Guida and Miller in that co-main lol, what a card.

I think the only reason Dana wanted the rematch to happen was so that Nunes would win again and take away any leverage Cris had. Like, when does Dana ever want a rematch of a fight that lasted less than a minute?

Idk I sorta saw this coming from a mile away. Dana has something against her for whatever reason. Never forget when he referred to her as Wanderlei. It’s a shame cause she’s world class and belongs in the UFC. She’ll be just fine in another organization and she’ll get the respect she deserves.

Lol at how he’s basically saying “I said she looks like Wanderlei, not that she looks like a man”

The thing is Dana, Wanderlei is a man.
