I think I have an idea of why Marianne won't go all in on Medicare for all, holistic practitioners have been barred from having Medicaid and Medicare fund their patients sessions for a very long time and so it could be that. She did say she's getting closer to being for it but that isn't enough.

Most of the health care nerds agree. Bernie’s Med For All isn’t all that popular and is also way different than most every other single payer health care system around the world.

But I also think given her post debate interviews, she understands that starting with everything is the best place to start because the political process will eventually break the bill down into a system that is more like the rest of the world, and it’s better to negotiate from Bernie’s M4A as a starting point.

Except he’s definitely envisioning a system here that is more like European single payer health care systems and not a M4A bill style that literally covers every single thing free of charge.

I know I was like super immersed in the health care policy thing for years so maybe Im misreading things but I don’t think people remember that those pushing for universal health care for years were not pushing for what’s in the current M4A bill by Bernie

I think there is something to the whole "He is the only one who says the change is going to have to come from outside the system" in the article @popdisaster00 posted about this morning.

Bernie and Warren want similar goals. But I think Warren's message resonates more with people who think we can work within the system to change the system, whereas Bernie's message is definitely more revolutionary. So in that regard, I think it definitely is understandable why people who agree with the message but are fortunate enough for the system to still work out in their favor to believe more in Warren's approach.

“Single payer” is synonymous with European style universal health care systems which, for the most part, aren’t really “single payer” by strict definition because a lot of them have more than one payer haha

So I am seeing that Tim Ryan not putting his hand over the heart for the national anthem is getting attacked from Republicans.

Am I the only one that does this? I have always thought that the hand over the heart was more for the Pledge and you could do it for the National Anthem but it wasn't mandatory.

I’m saying that people use “single payer” they way they use “socialism” to describe things that aren’t really those things. Our health care debate has always described European health care systems as “single payer” and “socialized medicine” even though most of them aren’t really either of those things.
