I still don't like IPAs or Pale Ales. I like the cheap stuff. You can take the boy out of white trash Florida but you can't take white trash Florida out of the boy.

That's what I go for as well.....except I don't live in a state where you can buy it. haha. So it's always my go-to for cheap beer while I'm traveling or on vacation. Otherwise, something like Michelob Pure Gold will hit the spot on a hot day. I've been getting a little tired of IPAs so I've moved onto sours, blonde ales, cream ales, etc. - anything with a little more flavor to it, but a cheap beer is decent every once in a while.

Although I try to go without drinking during the entire fall/winter seasons altogether so I'm probably about to say goodbye to all of them for a bit lol

  6. I'm all about the cheap beers. PBR, Miller High Life, Busch, etc. I usually drink to have a good time, not because I want it to necessarily be an adventure for my taste buds, haha.

I can pretty much drink any beer though, but I'm a Pilsner and Hef kinda guy, generally. The darker the beer, the less fun I have drinking it...

I'm also all about a whiskey (or rum) and coke.

From the Ringer article I posted above:

"Their second video together would be for “All the Small Things,” a radio-friendly Enema throw-in that DeLonge wrote to please MCA, the band’s record label. (The catchy love song was first called “Babycakes-Buttermuffin.”)"

I know about "First Date" & "Rock Show" being written to please management/the label but this is the first I'm hearing this about ATST. Pretty cool they have the note to Tom Lord-Alge in the article and shows them re-naming it to All the Small Things.

  8. The mix notes from that article. I love this kind of shit!

    What's My Age Again?

They changed the name because they didn't think people would understand what Peter Pan Complex is.

Yeah I never heard about that either. I thought the story went that Tom came home for the night after recording the album and his then gf/now (ex)wife had roses on the stairs and was waiting for him so he wrote the song about that moment.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

"Another melancholy tune was at least in part the product of Finn attending a Blink-182 concert and hearing from fans that they liked when the band sang about disintegrating relationships. “I asked Mark to write another breakup song,” Finn told MTV. “He came back the next day with ‘Going Away to College.’”

another one to add to the list if anyone's in doubt that Jerry Finn was the greatest to ever do it!

That's the rumor. Neither of them follow each other on social media anymore and any picture of either of them for the last year or so don't have any wedding rings on, nor has there been any pictures of them together. Tom has also mentioned in interviews a few months ago that it was a tough couple of years for him.

Babycakes Buttermuffin is hilarious. Never heard that before. Adding it to my nerd library of blink facts.

Are there any other songs that changed titles? The only ones I'm aware of are Peter Pan Complex as just mentioned and Action for Feeling This.

MH 4.18.2011 was originally called "Hold On" but Tom liked the MH for the title because it sounded like a computer virus.

I'm pretty sure Feeling This was never going to be called Action and it was just a mistake made by the video game developer. They didn't have a title of the song yet when it was sent in and because the song starts with "Let's Get Ready For Action" the company went with Action. I think one of the guys in the band confirmed it in an interview awhile ago.

EDIT: Per Wikipedia: Barker explained in an interview that "'Action' just sounded kind of dorky to us. Like we would always call it 'Feeling This' and then someone at our label, I think, like wrote it as 'Action' one time and sent out singles to people. And it was always supposed to be 'Feeling This'.

In my mind I have a studio image where "Action" was written on the song board on the wall but I might be imagining it haha.

It is interesting to me that MCA/management seemed to have more creative control than I ever thought they did when it was all happening.
