I'm not sure if Castle Rock is horror or not but I'd imagine it is

I fell off finishing Castle Rock and heard the ending wasn’t great, but I’m super excited for next season.

It's worth it for the Last Drive-In alone.
    Cold Hell
    Revenge
    Mandy
    Horror Noire
    You Might Be the Killer
    Terrified
    Mayhem
    Prevenge
    Lake Bodom

All worth it for at least a couple months.

New Creepshow and NOS4A2 have my interest as well.

Awesome. Thanks for this. I saw Mandy, but didn’t realize it’s a Shudder exclusive. My library has it lol.

I think Shudder "exclusive" just refers to the streaming rights for now. They are starting to produce their own content, though.

Has anyone heard anything about this Typewriter show on Netflix? Of all places, CNN wrote up something on it and how scary it was.

  8. Watched Final Destination 1 & 2 last night. First one is kinda cheesy but respect for the fun premise. The sequel is awesome. That opening sequence on the freeway is amazing and still holds up imo. Gonna try to get to the rest of the sequels soon. I don't remember them as well and don't think I've seen the last one.

I don't recommend if you think the first one is cheesy. They up the ante with that on every one that came after.

    This hurt me.

  13. Good to hear. I don't think I've seen The Final Destination or FD5.

It was still enjoyable, but it felt super 90s. I sort of expect the writing/acting to not be stellar in all these. The first one was just more dated than I remember and had what I can only describe as soap opera lighting ha.

One deserves so much better! The first two are iconic. Five is definitely the best of the rest, but I think four being so abysmal made five look better by comparison than it actually was. Four really really sucks, and I defend the whole series more than most people.

  16. The initial premonition sequence in the first is great and the teacher's death scene is fun.

Also, I was just reading up on this and didn't know there was an alternate plotline/ending?!

That whole scene with the computer and the dishwasher and the mug is just flawless. I think we talked about it a while ago but it’s maybe my favorite sequence in the film and certainly one of my favorites of the whole series. No matter how many times I watch it I get so tense.

I don’t cringe much from gore/effects, but the bathtub sequence in the first film, as well as the airplane going down, are still somewhat difficult to watch without wincing at least once.

I watched those movies when I was way too young, and the bathtub was the only part that really traumatized me. It was just so realistic and loooong and just got to me.

The thing I didn't care for in the first one was how there seemed to be more supernatural stuff at play. Like how the water came out to make him slip but then the water crawled back in after. I didnt like that aspect. I feel like the sequels tried to make it more "happenstance" (as much as it can be) and I preferred that route than the force like... Framing for murder

I don’t know, I always thought the second one upped the supernatural aspect and “will” of death or whatever by bringing in the new life angle. The water going back in does stand out though, and I’m pretty sure the writers mentioned moving away from that in the commentary or special features.

Yeah idk how to word it correctly because it's all supernatural lol.

  23. I'm trying to remember how all the deaths happen, but ya the bathroom scene in 1 makes "Death" seem more conscious as opposed to the other deaths, which just seem like extremely elaborate happenstance.

I feel like three was where things went really far into the Rube Goldberg arena and got less and less believable/more had to happen to lead to the deaths, but that one did have a more calculated feel to it than most.
