Everyone is agreement there. Haven't seen anything negative regarding Cynical.

  3. There was a guy a few posts up that didn't really like it (which is fine)

I really wish I could say it's their best opener ever but how can I put it over Carousel, Dumpweed, Pathetic or Feeling This? Anthem Pt. 2 is tough too. I can just say kudos to blink 182 on album openers lol.

    Love Cynical.

Other than the complaints that it should be a longer song, yea.

The prospect of Tom ever rejoining the band at this point bums me out for the fact they still probably wouldn't get an album out in years after announcing it (if at all) and it would just be the greatest hits tour again which we are all tired of.

Anyone remember Tom bigging up the Leeds/Reading Festival dates a few years back promising deep cuts etc and then playing the same set list as always.

Me writing that just makes me think the whole reunion tour was a cash grab for Tom it really did all feel semi half arsed.

  8. cricketandclover

    Things have changed.

How is there any indication the stale setlist was Tom's fault? The shows they've done thus far don't really deviate from that outside of a few songs.

They also did acoustic mini-sets with SUPER rare songs toward the end of Tom's time in the band, so I don't think that's a fair argument.

The most unique set I think they've done is the 10 year anniversary shows of Untitled. The two Hollywood Palladium shows they did the Untitled record obviously and then had Not Now, M+M's, Mutt, Dick Lips, Natives in the encores. At one of the other 2 LA shows they did Going Away to College, and Dysentery Gary.

I landed on the Tarmac, walked off the plane, and met a smart, fit man in his 60's. Never seen a Multi-Star General before.. Let alone talked to one. He led me to a table in the back of a large room. He leaned across the table and said "It was the Cold War, and we lived under the very real threat of Nuclear War every day... And somewhere in those years...We found a life-form." I said, "Sir, I need help telling young adults this story..." He said, "What do you need?"...."Advisors", I responded. "I need high-ranking Advisors in the Military, Intelligence and DOD to help guide me." So- I was given 10 Advisors, each with knowledge in different areas that pertain to UFOs and the very real National Security issues associated with them. I do wish the press would ask me about this, rather than write stupid headlines about Aliens... I have been given a gift, the ability to tell you all our biggest secret. It will come in books, feature films and documentaries. It's called SEKRET MACHINES. The first Novel is AVAILABLE at AMAZON and ToTheStars.Media

I guess I just jumped to that conclusion with what I mentioned above. The Leeds and Reading shows were hyped by Tom with many expecting a huge switch up of songs but it just didn't happen. This could be due to the fact Mark was living in London at the time too so I guess rehearsals were on the low side.

Maaaaaaan I really REALLY wanted them shows to come over here I was so gutted when it didn't happen.

Did we ever figure out where Jack Hoppus sings on the album? Or are we just assuming it's in some of the gang vocals?

Going to try listening to this again, but first two times really didn't hit me...

Also, kinda bothers me that 'Bored To Death', "She's Out of Her Mind', 'No Future', and 'San Diego' all have really similar guitar riffs in the intro/verses.

Same here. Especially with Bored to Death and SOOHM being back to back, it becomes so obvious.

    I am a haunted house. I'm superstitious.

It was bound to happen sometime. I even like 'California' now. 10/10

Nobody likes you when you're 23

On SOOHM you can hear him on the a-a-a-antisocial part of skiba's verse. I also swore I listened a young voice on Sober while Mark sings: I can do bad, but you can do better, but after listening closely, I think it's Skiba. I don't reconginze him on the gang vocals.

Yeah, I'm just really disappointed with this as a whole. Some songs I really like, but overall I find myself really sad this is blink-182 now...
