I find the lyrics on this really wonderful, to be honest

 

A lot of the lyrics are Gibbard by the numbers to me tbh, but they’re still good

I really love the lyrics to “Your Hurricane.” This entire album hits the mark for me. Probably my third favorite Death Cab, after Plans and Transatlanticism. I’m not as into their earlier stuff as a lot of people.

 

This album was a huge bounce back after I did not like Kintsugi at all

 

“A lonely fish in a sea full of squid” brings much of the song down for me haha

I think the first half of kinstugi is perfect, but I hardly remember what the second half sounds like save for a song or two. I think TYFT is thus probably more consistent but doesn’t hit the same highs for me.

 

No Room in Frame is one of the songs they've put out this decade. And the second half of the album has Everything Is A Ceiling, Good Help, and Binary Sea.

 

El Dorado and Ingenue are the ones I like :P

 

Ha, El Dorado is the clear weak point for me. Ingenue is cool, though.

 

No Room In Frame is probably my fav death cab song at this point, but I didn’t really get into them until way later

 

Yeah, it's unreal. It's lyrically Ben at his best, as well.

 

I’m weird because Kintsugi is probably my 3rd favorite

It did come out on the day of my last break up

 

Kintsugi was a solid album, but personally I think Everything's a Ceiling and Good Help are two of their most forgettable songs.

 

Kintsugi and TYFT both seem transitional, imo. I still think Ben has another classic record in him. But even if I'm wrong, records of the caliber of TYFT will keep me satisfied.

 

There’s one very very good album if you take parts of Kintsugi and TYFT

 

Everything's a Ceiling is easily one of their best this decade imo. Looove that song.

 

You've Haunted Me All My Life and Binary Sea are way underrated

 

"Little Wanderer" is my favorite track on that album.

 

No Room In Frame is number one for me and I would probably put it in their top five overall

 

No Room in Frame is easily the best song they've done since Narrow Stairs. Would probably make my top 15.

 

only narrow stairs song better is bixby

 

Grapevine Fires for me.

 

Bixby, Grapevine, and Cath are all better than anything on Kintsugi. Probably a couple other NS songs if I really thought about it.
