  1. I mean, if you think that’s on purpose then I don’t know what to tell you.

Sissoko again. Not dirty though, right?

  4. You’re right. Every team that plays United is a dirty team. United never makes similar plays. Completely innocent and clean team. And if you disagree you’re “pathetic”.

  6. Should I post the video of the United player going boots up to Kane’s ankles not even getting close to the ball?

    hmmm

Sissoko's knows what he's doing there. He may be a terrible, clumsy oaf of a player but he's not so clumsy that he needs to plant his standing foot onto his opponent there.

I'm not sure why everything has to be so tribal with football. Anyone can see that Sissoko knew what he was doing there, and even went back a second time. It's okay to admit it as a supporter of the club he plays for. Just like it's okay to admit that it was a one off and doesn't necessarily make Spurs a dirty team or anything like that. Sometimes players just make stupid decisions.

  9. Whether he did it on purpose or not, the second part of this I 100% agree with. One questionable play doesn’t make an entire team dirty. Because it happens to every team.

I don’t think he did it on purpose or with malicious intent but it certainly was a wreckless play and he should be booked. There’s a difference between dirty and careless.

This should go without saying, but it apparently needed saying.

Spurs have been consistently dirty for like four seasons now so this isn’t a surprising update.

No need to be dirty against Man United though. It's not like you need to drag them down a level.

  15. Arsenal have announced the Ceballos loan.

Even though it hurts to say anything good about them, those new home shirts are nice.

The success of this season hinges on Ole picking the team on merit. With what the youth have shown us this summer, there’s no excuse for us to keep picking the same old dross.

Players we need to see more of: Gomes, Greenwood, McTominay, Pereira, Tuanzebe. Garner, Chong, Laird are a few others who look bright but are maybe a bit further off.

Players we need to see less of: Any center back not named Lindelof or Tuanzebe, Matic, Mata, Lingard, Fred.

  17. After watching the video again....Sissoko's foot hits the ground next to James. Then James grabs his foot (not saying he grabbed it on purpose) and pulls it towards his body. Sissoko's spikes weren't even facing James' body at this point. It wasn't a stamp. It wasn't dirty.

Nah Spurs are filthy and have been since they lost the league to Leicester. That Chelsea match was one of the worst. They consistently do it, especially when they're losing, the get dirtier and more petulant. They're the worst in the league by a distance. Alli and Sissoko were awful today in a friendly. It's no coincidence they both went in very hard after going one nil down today.

Spurs fans annoy me because they act like their shit doesn't stink.

Fwiw Pereira had a very dirty challenge on Kane today. He's a very dirty player and it will cost us in the long run. I don't like seeing shit like that especially in pre season. Sevilla were atrocious against Liverpool as well.

It's exactly what annoys me. Everyone can see they're a dirty side but Spurs fans don't. Whether that's tribal or just ignorance I don't know.

Most of our players are too soft for it to actually affect them anyway :crylaugh:

My point is more that you know there are Spurs fans who post in here pretty frequently, is there any need to be a cock about it?

Also, what you're saying isn't backed up by stats: Premier League - Fairplay table 18/19

Last 3 seasons, Spurs have been the 8th cleanest team (or better) by those measures, with United being 14th or worse. They were actually dirtier 4 years ago. Unless you want to claim that Spurs are so skillful in their fouling that they just don't get caught...

  21. You won't see me denying Dele being a little shit at times. Same goes for Dier. Those two are the ones that if people want call out as assholes I won't really put up much of a fight. But to call Spurs a dirty team is dumb. If they're dirty then so is every team in the league.

The Chelsea game is such an outlier to bring up. Obviously that game was something to be embarrassed about. But you can't use something that happened years ago as proof of them being a dirty team.

I'll be a cock, and get called out if so. Like I have.

I mean Sissoko didn't get booked for that tackle today, so does that mean it wasn't a dirty tackle? Then we move onto Dele Alli who has literally punched someone in the stomach and not got booked? If we just base dirtiness on cards that's opens up a whole grey area. Is a mistimed tackle as dirty as a studs up challenge if they both get yellows?

I don't think Spurs foul as much as say us, because we aren't as good defensively, but their fouls are dirtier. Stats can only show half the story.

  23. Speaking of Dele, he's been extremely frustrating recently. It seems like his development just came to a complete stop. He isn't bad but he doesn't really stick out in a good way very often anymore. What's crazy is that he's still young enough to overcome a slump and start making an impact. But something seems off. Just very stale and lackadaisical.

Tbh I still consider United a dirty team from when Roy Keane used to play for them :crylaugh:

Just like Sunderland will always be a dirty team to me because of Lee Cattermole, Stoke because of Shawcross etc, one player or one incident can make a lasting impression - people remember that Spurs game against Chelsea as being particularly dirty and sometimes a reputation just sticks, we all do it!

Looks like Poch has come out and apologised on behalf of his players today. So yeah they must not have been dirty today, right?
