I... do not like the cover. The title is interesting though. I still have high hopes for this album, I believe in Chance


Also very surprised he's dropping on the same day as Cordae

 

Curious if this releases worldwide at midnight EST or if it’ll hit New Zealand in two hours and i can listen today.

 

Surprised he isn’t putting any info out. Guess he wants to temper expectations but honestly this is nowhere near the promo push that CB got.

 

I think he confirmed it is supposed to be kind of a mixtape of all the different types of songs played at his wedding.

I know I’ve been down on him for most of this rollout, but I’m really looking forward to this now that it is so close. I’m not expecting anything and am not particularly excited, but I hope he proves me wrong and the album is amazing.

Completely forgot this was coming out. This has no buzz around it, I've seen more posters up around Chicago for 10 Day/Acid Rap on streaming services than this.

 

Yeah the hype is non existent, he should have dropped another song with the album cover and date announcement. But after the first song flopping so hard maybe they wanted to avoid that.

 

Yeah why is there no hype for this anywhere? Has his reputation really gone that off the rails? Weird.

 

Chance the Rapper expected to perform in Chicago before Bears season opener

 

Yeah it’s pretty strange. It seemed like it was all pretty rushed. Like he’s been hyping up that it was coming out in July for months now and when July came they probably still had a lot of work to do which is why it’s releasing on the very last Friday of the month. Which is also why you don’t see a pre-save or anything for it on Apple Music or Spotify. They’ll probably submit it very last minute today the same way Kanye does. And because they’re still working on the album it hasn’t allowed much time for promotion. So I can see the method being, put the album out, find out what songs get the best response, pick a single, and then push it after the fact.

 

now that ive let groceries settle in, TBH im pretty stoked on this album. I think its becoming in vogue to hate on chance (myself being guilty of this) but i have high hopes for this. From what I understand that colbert song he did with Daniel Caesar is on this, so clearly it wont all be meme raps.

 

Watching how people and publications respond to this is going to be fascinating*

I’m just alarmed at how many songs he says will be on it. His mixtapes worked really well as albums and now I feel like his album is going to feel like a mixtape

pretty sure they already have written 6 or the 7 paragraphs, all they have to do is write one last paragraph with a few album-specific references to prove they listned
