Little chance that it's a new full length, right? In any case, Thank You For Today is their best since Plans, so I'm excited for new tunes.

I would love another album. Feel like it probably won't be though. Although if it isn't they should say what it is instead of teasing. Actually not sure what the point is of a tweet announcing an announcement is. Idk why that's a thing now.

 

Thank you! The announcing an announcement thing is one of my least favorite trends in modern pop culture.

it's Thursday's new thing too and they're always nothing announcements i hate it

 

it's annoying because if the announcement is great it kind of takes away from the surprise and excitement and if it's for something shit it just builds up unnecessary hype..

 

I honestly don't understand music promo or album rollouts at all anymore, though, so maybe that's me. There are a few artists I follow that have been in the buildup phase to new albums for like a year and a half and it's fucking annoying.

 

I mean, I get it to a certain extent. Announcing an announcement gets more fans amped and ready for something to happen, it gets people talking, wondering. It's also annoying but here we are.

 

I mean, it gets me to be on the look out on Thursday, whereas I might ignore my phone all day like usual. I don’t mind the announcements of announcements.

I’m going to guess it’s an EP of new material/possible b-sides

 

It's all hype and perception

If I released an album, I'd just be like "here. here it is. have fun"

 

EP is my most optimistic guess, they don’t really seem like the type of band to tease nothing. All of their Thank You for Today remixes were announced the day of if I remember correctly.

 

My guess is a one off song for.....something.

 

It's probably an EP of songs that didn't make the album, like the Open Doors EP.
