I felt so stupid during that scene because I was totally focused on background clues on the table that I forgot to look at the drawing at all.

I thought I was being so sneaky and then immediately realized I missed what was probably the actual hint, lol.

Wow. Lucille's line sums up everything I've wanted to say about the ending but couldn't put it to words.

Personally I didn't think so. It's a slow build but it keeps your attention the entire time and at no point did I feel like the movie was dragging.

Awesome. Perfect opportunity to see it tonight but I am tired as hell haha. So as long as it’s not a boring slog I should be a-ok

It actually felt longer than 2.5 hours to me. I was captivated the whole time though so I didn't mind

This is already out of my go to theater wtf. I need to go see it a second time before it's not showing anywhere

It reminded me of how he made Alex Wolff sound infantile in Hereditary. He’s definitely a fan of bringing adults to a child’s level to add to the unease of a situation.

Saw this on a whim the other night. Initially thought it wouldn't be my thing, but heard it was more artsy or whatever than horror (albeit w/ horrifying visuals) & thought, hey, haven't made it to the theater for much real cinema or whatever in 2019. Really glad I did, though can't decide if I "enjoyed" it or not.

Skimmed some random comments & was surprised at how much people see this as Dani, I dunno, finding herself? Dunno how much it's been discussed in here, but thinking back, I'm struck by how much she continually found herself defined by others. Granted, she is also working through a massive tragedy, though depending on how much you trust her douche boyfriend's perspective, her relationships before that might've also been unhealthy? Then she really leans into boyfriend & boyfriend's douche friends. Then, at the end, she's seduced into finding her identity in this cult. Sure, the ending is framed as cathartic, but it's kind of a false catharsis as she goes from one unhealthy relationship to another. In this very tragic, very honest & real way, neither she nor I ever get to see who she is.

Anyways, loved Florence Pugh in this, obviously. Also loved her in Fighting with my Family, & happy she gets to do the whole Marvel thing now. And, loved the visuals, obviously. Glad I made it out to the theater for this.

Agree with this completely in that I feel like I haven’t seen much discussion in this regard. The ending of the leaked script seems to agree too:
