More family met my lil sis' bf this week and I think that's my least fave part of relationships. They loved him and have stuff in common with him but they most likely won't ever feel that way about someone I date cause I'm the radical weirdo of the family. My family is big on "approving" the guys we date and being vocal if they like them or not and I don't like their standards of approval because they're all so close minded on how men should be and act. It gives me anxiety and when I'm seeing someone I start thinking how my family would react to them and I get more anxious. It's made me want to separate those parts of my life completely and never introduce them to anyone. Blegh.

My taste in guys is pretty sketch lol but I think I've gotten better. I detect red flags easier so I'm cool with just casually dating rn and figuring it out (tho I'm not now cause I'm in a horrible rural conservative town with horrible ppl lol). I just couldn't care less what their opinions are of someone I date but I know if they meet someone I'm dating I'll have to hear it. I wish I had one of those distant families where nobody is in each others business haha.
