I'll agree with you on this one.

Oh yeah... haha. For a long time I didn't even think that was controversial. Kinda just assumed most other people fell off after TAYF.

Probably Lights and Sounds too, always been outspoken on that one

I'll always love them but eh that's just me

I'm with you on L&S though, although I do think I like it more than you do.

Ryans voice just sounds so flat on all the songs. But musically I think it might be their best album

That's crazy talk! Paper Walls is basically that album done right, plus a little extra of the typical YC pop punk

Musically, I think LIft a Sail might be their best, though it's only like my fourth favorite

@CoffeeEyes17 you're right though I am on a serious roll, especially because I just posted how I prefer Owl City to The Postal Service

For sure. Juturna is my favorite album, period, but I consider Violent Waves to be my second favorite Circa release.

I feel like the string arrangement on L&S was superb. Now guitar wise, I'd give the edge to SA. But PW does pretty much everything right and has the best production job I think

Yeah, the string arrangements just don't do much for me when I can't stand the vocals or songs themselves, but I Feel you

I feel like On Letting Go is underrated. I think it's easily Circa's best but I usually see people go for either Juturna or Blue Sky Noise.

    hmmm

Totally agree and this is the problem - there are 10/10 albums that I listen to a lot less than some 8 or 9/10 albums. Reuben are my third favourite band and they only released three albums, all of which were probably 9/10s, yet I listen to those records a lot more than I would, for example, a masterpiece like Ok Computer. There's just an emotional connection I have to their music that makes them one of my favourite bands. You just can't do this by adding up ratings.

    The rivalry is back on

I've always wondered. Not specifically with OK Computer or anything, but are albums really a 10/10 masterpiece if you don't want to go back and listen to them over and over again?

I think they absolutely can be.

I think there's a difference in whether your looking at them objectively or subjectively.

I think you can still have a favorite album subjectively that maybe you don't listen to as much. Maybe that's because it's emotionally heavy or you have to be in a certain mood to listen to it, but I'd argue it can still be an absolute favorite.

Really? Over on AP it seemed like On Letting go was the general favorite. I will say it's the one that took the longest for me to get into though.

True. I was more talking about an album like OK Computer that I can say is objectively fantastic, but not really care for it personally.
