no, because everyone who had a different opinion was shouted down by the usual suspects in this thread and the only people left were fucking dough brained morons who thought it was a good opening to be racist.

the venn diagram of people who want to see li'l wayne and blink 182 is two circles.

    I think that’s a bad take too.

Pop-punk and 90s punk blink fans may be close minded, but a good section of blink fans are college kids and frat bros who would love to see both since both have hits they have grown up listening to.

And most of all you are ignoring a whole set of black kids that grew up listening to blink and skating and playing drums and also listening to Wayne and to Travis every time he does a hip hop remix.

Just because some of y’all don’t fuck with the vision doesn’t mean that you should start applying the “no blink fans want to see lil wayne and vice versa” logic to everyone else. The tour makes a lot of sense but the big problem is that tickets ended up being super pricy.

I agree, if we're going to ignore all the evidence we might be able to build a counter-argument.

I definitely am glad the usual suspects in this thread shouted down racial undertones and the close minded way of thinking pop punk fans have towards the genre of hip hop.

These comments back from May were standouts in this thread:

And also: did you read like any comments on Twitter, FB, Instagram when this tour was announced? That is where it really showed. So yeah ... we were justified in calling it stupid of how close minded people can be towards different genres of music.

The only thing stupid about this tour was how expensive it was. And even with that the first few shows were packed and very successful.

I mean I guess you guys can keep having your fun little circle jerk here while the tour is falling apart and I'll just have my quiet "I told you so" in the privacy of my own thoughts.

Like the tour is falling apart before your own eyes and you still think "no, this is good actually".

(also if I think I oppose shouting down the racists then I don't know what the fuck to tell you, at that point you're just reading what you want to read)

There’s a huge difference between “this tour is falling apart” (a fact) and “this tour was always going to fall apart because of lil Wayne” (a dubious opinion)

My problem is with people who were eagerly awaiting to dance on its grave.

no, this tour is falling apart because of blink-182 AND lil wayne collectively overplaying their fadingly relevant hand

Lil Wayne just played SNL, released a much awaited number one album with a pretty big single and a top 25 year end album on billboard despite a LONG hiatus due to a legal battle... If that’s irrelevant idk

it's entirely possible Wayne fans aren't willing to pay extra for blink (which they undoubtedly have to, given by what you said earlier in the thread)

  12. Maybevictor

    @maybevictor Prestigious

We definitely agree on that, but that doesn’t make Wayne “fadingly relevant” is the point I’m trying to make.

look, I don't wanna be splitting hairs here, but I do think that his relevancy is fading, he's opening up for blink-182 for crying out loud. I'm not saying he's irrelevant, but this is not the slot he would've had 10 years ago.

Did people really say that they didn’t like the Wayne tour because they were worried about the N word? If you are that worried about what language your kids may or may not hear, how about not bringing them to see blink 182?

I do just wanna say my post about the N-Word being a pretty clear difference between blink & Wayne was intended to be a joke, although ill-concieved.

Also I did end up blowing $280 on tickets for my Dad's birthday & downloading TCIII so guess who's eating shit now? Me-- your boi, Elias.

They should have saved the “Pop Disaster” name for this tour. Got em.

I would imagine there being some serious lawsuits if Wayne did dip from this tour.

Not surprising. Probably letting things cool down a bit and see where Wayne's head is at in the morning all while trying to see what they're going to do about the rest of the tour (i.e. cancelling or trying to book another act before announcing anything).

There isn't another date until tomorrow, so I assume they're still trying to damage control from yesterday.
