yeah its...ive said that like 5 or 10 times today, its insane, incomprehensible...dont really know what else to say. its the 20th century musical library of alexandria burning down because of poor work safety laws

 

I may borrow that metaphor when discussing it with people because it's perfectly apt. We don't even know what we'll never know because of it.

Streaming really isn’t been great in that regard, too many blindspots

I spent a lot of last year digging into early fusion, Tony Williams Emergency, Larry Coryell, Gary Burton, early Charles Lloyd. There's some good shit hidden in pre-Bitches Brew fusion land

 

I follow Vernon Reid on twitter cause he's always talking music, and he's mentioned Tony Williams repeatedly. Makes me think I need to listen.

 

Absolute legend for his work with Miles and Herbie and others and in early fusion. He had a trio album with Jaco and McLaughlin too

 

He's also the drummer on Out to Lunch
