I’d love the Islanders for eternity if they submitted a (GREAT) offer sheet on Marner.

Those first round picks would likely never be lottery picks or decent picks. That team with Mitch and coached by Barry would be solid at the very least for the next four years. It’s not like Toronto would be getting a pick in the top 3

 

The isles also kind of have leverage because all they have to do is give the most out of the other teams, who else would give him more than 9? Also how could Dubas even match unless he makes some moves?

 

Random but I was listening to DP show, Jack Hughes sat next to Sandler at the Yankees game yesterday. Sandler really complimented him hard. Now make the playoffs, again.

 

Marner is easily worth 9, even 10 could be justified. If he signed a 9m offer sheet, we’d match without hesitating. But he never would ‘cause he/his father/his agent are delusional, bloodsucking leeches.

Is there a deadline for offer sheets or could a team submit one as long as an RFA remains unsigned?

 

Deadline is December 1st. If an RFA is unsigned by that date, they’re ineligible to play until the following season. One thing I don’t recall is whether or not RFAs can still be signed after that deadline, but they can’t play anyway so it’s kinda irrelevant.

 

That was the big Nylander hoopla last year right? He was an RFA and it got down to the last hour or whatever available to sign to play the rest of the year?

 

The last minute actually. Deadline is 5 PM EST, contract was announced at like 4:57. Shit was a nightmare.
