    Pity the living

Those points don't exactly rule out the possibility...

Maybe you just liked Delonge that much, who knows

Well, I DO give a fuck on whether you like the album or not. That's why I'm on this forum, to read other people's opinions and see what they think about the album. I'm just saying that you could've expressed your opinion with a better attitude.

Seriously though, guys. It's cool if you enjoy garbage in your ears. It's just me that isn't into listening to shit music. But really, it's cool if that's your thing. Who cares what I think?"

It's funny, at first I had a weird feeling about this album since Tom's departure , and everything, but shortly after hearing it I realize.. I think I'll be more disappointed if Tom replaces Skiba considering how great this turned out

Jerry Finn made so many bands the bands we love. I think his absence is felt hardest with Blink and AFI.

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

I'd be done if he came back. I couldn't go back to that lol. Especially cause I know that this lineup will only get better (and I'm absolutely loving this album.) There had to be a sense of familiarity with this album, but they did manage to do a little bit of new stuff. Once Skiba is pretty much fully welcomed by the fanbase, they gain the freedom to start just making music together without worrying about what it sounds like. They can work up to what their version of Untitled would be. Blink had stalled with Tom and it's exciting to see what this fresh start produces from here.

And Trio honestly. I'd have loved to see where they went from Crimson with him.

Oh yea, definitely. Crimson is my favorite by them, with Good Mourning being a close second.

Jealous tbh hahaha. The Yankees could go on a 14 game winning streak, and they'd still find a way to not make the playoffs.

This is clevelands year in sports methinks, finally. Except the Browns. They have as much chance as tom does at interviewing a real live alien for his next movie.

    Most Dope Supporter

Have now listened in full twice, once right at midnight when it came out and then earlier this afternoon, and I mostly feel very positive about it. I'll type out how I feel about the songs to better get my thoughts down in writing

    1. Cynical- Fucking amazing, possibly my favorite. Absolutely love how fast it is, drums are insane and Matt's part is incredible. Probably a top three Blink opener. 5/5
    2. Bored to Death- Loved it immediately when it came out, and still love it. Huge chorus and great interplay between the two vocalists. Getting a little tired of it due to how much I've heard it recently though but I won't let that affect my rating. 5/5
    3. She's Out of Her Mind- Was expecting something a lot cornier and poppier from the song title and what I've read about it, but I love this song. Very TOYPAJ sounding, and Matt's chorus is awesome. 4.5/5
    4. Los Angeles- Super different but I think it's really cool. Travis kills the drums and the chorus is epic. Not a big fan of the verses though. 3.5/5
    5. Sober- Unfortunately not at all a fan of this song. In my opinion it's not catchy enough for how overtly poppy it is, and it's not super interesting either. To be fair though a lot of this is pretty much the opinion I have about First Date too, so I could see this doing very well on the radio. 2/5
    6. Built This Pool- Really not necessary. Catchy but not really funny. Only 16 seconds though so it's not really a big deal. 2/5
    7. No Future- I honestly cannot see why more people don't absolutely love this song. Verses are great, especially Matt's, the chorus is incredibly catchy, and the bridge is truly awesome. Definitely one of my favorites. 5/5
    8. Home Is Such a Lonely Place- I could see this growing on me with time, but for now I can't really see myself listening to this outside of the context of listening to the full album. Instrumental is pretty and they both sound great but it's just not super engaging for me. 3/5
    9. Kings of the Weekend- Fully expected to not really like this song too much but the chorus is awesome (even though the lyrics are super corny) and it has one of the best guitar parts on the album. 3.5/5
    10. Teenage Satellites- This is one of only two songs that I can't immediately recall what it sounds like from memory. Chorus is pretty catchy but nothing special at all. 3/5
    11. Left Alone- I think I hyped myself up for this one too much reading other people's comments about this. Surprisingly AVA sounding intro leads into pretty mediocre verses, and while the chorus is pretty great I don't think it's the best one on the album like a lot of other people seem to. Definitely love Matt's voice on here though. 3.5/5
    12. Rabbit Hole- Had to grow on me when it was first released but I like it a lot now. Chorus is really catchy. The song is also better in context of the album. 4/5
    13. San Diego- Even though the intro sounds way too much like Bored to Death, this is easily one of my favorites on here. Matt once again absolutely kills the chorus, instrumental is great and this also definitely has some of the best lyrics on the album. 4.5/5
    14. The Only Thing That Matters- Was honestly kind of disappointed, but definitely still good. I actually think it sounds more like an Alkaline Trio b-side than an early Blink song. 3.5/5
    15. California- The other song that I can't recall off the top of my head. It's definitely different and Mark has one of his best vocal performances on the album here, but honestly not a huge fan. Still would have been a good closer though. 3/5
    16. Brohemian Rhapsody- The first 20 or so seconds is fucking killer, and one of my favorite parts of the album instrumentally. Too bad it's wasted on a horrifically unfunny one-liner, and I have no idea what they were thinking making this the last song either. 3/5

    17. Hey, I'm Sorry- As far as I'm concerned, this will be the closer of the album from now on, or at least it will be in my library. A noticeably more mature sound than the rest of the album, with some of the best lyrics and a great chorus too. Sounds like a mix of self-titled Blink and Agony & Irony Alk3. Love it. 5/5

Overall, while the first half is definitely better than the second half, I love this album. I've always been a massive fan of Skiba's so this may be some of my personal bias speaking, but I think he's probably the MVP of this album. He just brings his absolute A-game to every single track. This is not to downplay the contributions that Mark and Travis make though, Mark sounds more energetic than he has in over a decade and Travis predictably absolutely murders the drums for the entire album. I'd never put this album above EOTS, TOYPAJ or S/T but I think I would probably put it over Dude Ranch and definitely Neighborhoods and Cheshire Cat.

Although there's a few songs on here I'm not crazy about, I am extremely happy with this album, and this new incarnation of Blink. 4/5 overall

Can't wait to see them live in August.

If anybody actually reads this entire post, you're awesome

I think cynical would be a great live opener. Picture it, cynical "what's the point of saying sorry now?!?" Then bam kicks into feeling this.

No Future, The Only Thing That Matters, and Cynical are my favorites on the record.

I can see someone not liking this album. I think, though, that this is Travis' best work ever - he's beyond great on this. And I think that he's what's always set blink apart, even from other pop punk bands I've liked. I also think Skiba sounds as good as he's ever sounded (with apologies, perhaps, to the 'Heavens' record which is just sonic perfection. Maybe it's second best for him).

Really, my only complaint would be the track listing/flow. I feel like the first three songs set things up nicely, songs 4-6 sorta lull, and then it picks back up and goes. I may have ordered it differently, had I been given the 16 songs and told 'go.' But that's a minor complaint.

Enema was the gold standard for me. I think this has gotten really close to surpassing that. We'll see how it holds up with time, of course. But it's definitely exceeded my expectations.
