You're calling what people said to him online bullying and not his outright misogyny online bullying. You're telling me that I should just shut up and let him keep talking instead of calling him out on his outright misogyny. You're saying he should have every right to come in here and throw around all types of harmful rhetoric but we should just ignore it. And you're also using the age old "that's your opinion" about a set of facts that are already clearly laid out in this thread. Let me lay this process out. 1) Women who really don't need to do it will spend days patiently explaining things. I have, in many threads, all over this site, tried to patiently reason with K. He's not the first and he won't be the last

2) After this gets out of hand, men who mean well show up and turn it into a dunk fest. While I don't always hate this (sometimes ya need a little levity), then we get to this stage of the conversation, which is just men arguing with each other and again derailing the conversation and causing problems.

3) Then the men who showed up to say that the dunking was bad decide that the entire situation was toxic and out of hand the entire time.

I have watched this play out in hundreds of threads and have been on the receiving end of it. It sucks and even if you have the best of intentions, it further devalues (and in some cases, negates) the work I and other women have put into these conversations. I know it's the internet and we're all probably putting too much effort into this, but there has to be a better way for y'all to engage.

 

The only two people in this thread who I have labeled toxic and harmful are the two people being toxic and harmful. Do not @ me again.

Haven't been either of those things. Twisting my viewpoint to fit your argument is your choice. Not mine. I didn't once defend K, I haven't once agreed with anything he said. I tried to point out that after days of watching that unfold, and how it did nothing but boil down to childish responses and name calling, it was time to recognize how unhealthy that ALSO was. But being that that's what gets so thoroughly enjoyed on these forums now, someone like me gets labeled as toxic and fucking problematic because I find calling someone a loser both pointless and non-helping. Having the excuse "well it's okay because they were a bad person from what I can tell", also not healthy thinking.
