Cyberpunk 2077 (CD Projekt Red, 20??)

The next title from the revered Polish studio, CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 is a single-player sci-fi/cyberpunk RPG set in the 2077, based on Mike Pondersmith’s beloved table top RPG. America is in shambles, corporations rule the land and gangs own the rest. You will be a character of your creation, exploring Light City as you see fit. No release date yet but CDPR left a nice little letter in their premiere of their E3 trailer:

It's been over 2077 days since we announced our plan to develop Cyberpunk 2077. We released a CGI trailer, gave some interviews and... went dark. Normal procedure for these kinds of things - you announce a game and then shut up, roll up your sleeves, and go to work. We wanted to give you The Witcher 3 and both expansions first, which is why this period of staying silent was longer than we planned. Sorry for that.

Also, Mike is working on an updated version of the Cyberpunk table top RPG to coincide with the game’s release.

 

Can’t wait. I need to see that 15 min demo everyone is talking about. Hopefully they release it to YouTube or major publications soon.

Also I’m repalying The Witcher 3 sometime soon, and I’m excited. It’s been far too long.

 

How long do y'all think we'll have to wait for this? Since they were able to do a 45-min playable demo for the press, I'm optimistic that it'll be sometime in the next 2 years, but I fear it could be much longer than that.

 

Been hearing it’s still a few years out from release, I’m going to guess 2020 at the earliest.

They did say it was already playable from start to finish last year at E3, so I could actually see them maybe hitting the date.

I'm not really as into gaming as I used to be but this is the most excited for a game I've been in a LONG time (well, this and Death Stranding)


I haven't even started The Witcher 3 yet, I still have it unopened by my PS4 lol

Lol I actually only just bought it a few months ago because I saw the GOTY edition for $25 and couldn't pass that up. There's still a few games ahead of it in my backlog but I'm getting to it soon

Sometimes life isn’t fair

 

The demo impressions from E3 have me too hyped.

 

I'm definitely in the minority here, but learning that Johnny Silverhand features heavily in the game has me slightly less excited for it. I don't think including a big name celebrity as an actual character is going to be a crutch here like it probably is for Death Stranding, but I kind of wish he was just a minor character who appears once or twice.
