Found this in the archives. Idk if he still owns it but travis did own a wahoos restaurant in corona and his plaid kit hung from the ceiling. Mark also had a broken bass in there — I believe from the violence cd ROM music video.
I wonder if they’re still there?

 

Not a super notable interview but near the end Mark seems to decisively say the album is 15 songs which I think is new info?

 

New one is definitely my favorite so far. BIOMY is probably my least but it's still grown on me a ton

CHESHIRE CAT

1. Carousel - I always liked this intro more than the version on Buddha. Definitely a top Blink song. I always thought it was interesting that the band would say "Carousel" was the first song they wrote, as it doesn't appear on any of the early demo albums or anything. Makes me think they jammed on a riff from it, but never actually finished the song til Buddha came around. But I wonder what riff they started with. Maybe the bass line? Also, it's fun as hell to play the bridge to this song on guitar.

2. M+M's - I never learned how to play this opening riff on my guitar, but I always tried really hard to get it. Even with tabs, I still couldn't quite get it. This is another one of my favorites from this album. I remember downloading this music video from Kazaa back in the day. Really shitty quality, of course.

3. Fentoozler - I always forget about this song. It's not good, so that's probably why. Tom's got some cool riffage on it though.

4. Touchdown Boy - The quick sound of the tape starting up at the very beginning of the song is so cool! Never noticed that before. Tom's got some really cool riffs on this whole album. This song's not one of my favorites on here, but it's alright!

5. Strings - This chorus... haha. The verses are kinda nice though and the guitar riff in the bridge is so good!

6. Peggy Sue - The version on The Mark, Tom, and Travis Show album is so much better than this, but this is a good song, for sure.

7. Sometimes - I used to think this song was the most punk song ever when I was a kid! Also, according to Setlist.fm, they played "Sometimes" in Salt Lake City on the TOYPAJ album tour. Of course the one time I wasn't able to go see them. I wonder if they actually played it, and how that was. I'll never know!

8. Does My Breath Smell? - Classic Blink jam. I always loved the bridge to it. Blink writes a lot of good bridges, huh?!

9. Cacophony - It wasn't until the last few years that I started to really appreciate this song. I think it a lot now. One of my favorites on this album. I like how it's so quiet and clean in the verses, and then gets really loud and big in the choruses before jumping into the second half of the song that just goes and goes and goes. Really underrated song.

10. TV - A dorky little Mark song isn't always a bad thing. This song is a total Descendents clone, and it's pretty great for what it is.

11. Toast And Bananas - I always thought the intro of this sounded a lot like "Glycerine" by Bush, and I was stoked on that as a 9th grader, when I first heard this. Listening to it now, I wasn't wrong about the comparison, haha. As the song goes on though, it just gets better. Still one of my favorites on here. Also, you can hear the tape machine start up at the beginning of this one too.

12. Wasting Time - Probably my favorite track on Cheshire Cat. That intro riff (which is near impossible to play) is so good! This song's kind of like a prequel to "Josie."

13. Romeo And Rebecca - This song was never one of my favorites. I like the choruses though! And again, the bridge is cool.

14. Ben Wah Balls - So on the tracklist, the last 3 songs are in different colors to indicate that they're joke songs, or something. I was always confused why this song was considered a joke song though. Sure, it's not the most serious song or anything, but it's not that more jokey than a few of the others on here. Anyway, this song's fine, haha.

15. Just About Done - This one used to make my friends and I laugh so hard when we were in junior high, haha. When I listen to it now, I just look back on those times hanging out with my friends in my bedroom blasting this song and laughing our asses off. Such a dumb song though, ha. Must have been fun to record though.

16. Depends - Obviously another one my friends and I thought was hilarious. Still kinda makes me chuckle.

 

After reading that review I am reminded I do not remember like 50% of that album lol.

 

Anyone know if pit upgrades were available yesterday Saratoga Springs? I'm hoping to get one tomorrow in Indianapolis.

 

Same here. I had the thought, "Man, I'm glad I got into that album and enjoyed it at 11 years old because that's the only period in my life I would have appreciated it."

 

good writeup, always thought "Strings" and "Cacophony" were way better than reputation suggests

 

Really like the new tune! Can this album just friggin come out already
