The next Pokémon GO event has been announced. From June 28th 2019 at 20:00 UTC, Alolan Rattata, Sandshrew, Vulpix, Diglett, Meowth, Geodude, Grimer, and Exeggutor will be available to find shiny with new avatar items found in the store based on the Team Leaders.
From June 28th 2019 - July 6th 2019, Party Hat Pichu will appear in Photobombs, with it also being available in 7km eggs
From June 28th 2019 until September 2nd 2019, new Special Research will begin which will give helpful rewards for players over Level 10. You'll also be able to take down Raid Bosses easier and have extra Premier Balls and Trading Pokémon will cost 25% the current Stardust

What does “jump start research” mean?

 

new special research to help lapsed players catch up/get back into it. makes me hopeful itll carry some good rewards.

 

It would make me pretty happy if there was research to get some of the goodies from gen 1 and 2.

Also, I’m wondering if all the Alolan forms are going to be in the wild with their shiny versions available or if they are just gonna stay in 7k eggs.

It would be fun to catch Alolan Muk and Vulpix in the wild.

Edit: like it would be cool if we could get chances at legendary Pokémon from earlier gens through field research.

 

Also, the shadow Pokémon thing seems pretty cool the more I’ve looked into it.

 

if the Alolans aren't in the wild, then fuck this event tbh. if they're hatch only it'll be an event that literally has no event spawns. it would just be a gigantic ploy to sell incubators.

 

They better be in the wild. It says encounter so I'm hopeful

 

omg quick catching on the new update on android is so easy and glorious

the back button now works as a "run" button, but you can tap it any time after the name and the CP of the Pokemon come up. this includes mid throw/catch, whereas the on screen run button disappaears. so as soon as you hit a mon with your ball, press back and you will run. tap the mon on the map again.

-if you encounter it again, you didn't catch it, so try again.
-if it comes up as "mon not found", you either caught it or it ran. check your bag and see if its there.

basically it skips the entire catch animation. it's going to make community day a BREEZE
