Imagine fucking up so badly that a supreme court that literally just went "fuck democracy" a few minutes earlier doesn't want your racist question on the census.

The faces that Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker made when Beto busted out the Spanish IMMEDIATELY were absolutely fucking PRICELESS.

I didn't see this exact moment on the debate itself though, but in one of the memes about it Booker is actually looking directly into the camera a la Jim from The Office.

If this actually happened it's my favorite thing he's ever done.

The SCOTUS developments this morning throw this kind of shit into harsh relief though. I mean, I love laughing at this stuff because it is patently absurd - but these are the people who are hopefully going to unseat Trump and hopefully try to prevent this type of stuff as much as possible going forward. It sucks that they seem to all feel running for president is the only way to do this when they could be more useful elsewhere, but here we are.

 

Possibly the biggest takeaway I had from last night was that the other candidates did not respect Beto and saw him as food. I guess because everyone knows him but no one really supports him as their first choice, they felt like they could get points for attacking him without much risk of backlash, and it seemed to work. He got talked over, rebutted, told he was wrong so many times. Really bad showing

 

All i could think of when booker spoke. Had to do it.

 

Yeah, I don't even like him and I was starting to feel a little bad about it....

....then I remembered his glowing Vanity Fair cover story versus the article where they asked if Elizabeth Warrren is too "unlikeable" and I actually began enjoying watching him take a fucking beating like that.

 

Why was Warren at the kids' table...? The only reasonable explanation I could come up with was that they were trying to make sure there was at least one serious contender on each debate night, to try to make sure people even watched the first night.

I want to see her going up against Biden & Bernie.

 

Yeah after sleeping on it, I don’t think betos answers themselves were that “bad”, it was just obvious that the other candidates knew more and were able to beat him over the head with it repeatedly.

Dude seems like a nice guy, so hopefully he can get out before his rep is too damaged and get back in the senate race
