While listening to REM live ep I come across Peter Buck's wiki and found this odd tidbit (talk about worlds colliding!)

On April 21, 2001, Buck was aboard a trans-polar flight (British Airways #48) from Seattle to London to play a concert at Trafalgar Square. Witnesses alleged that Buck exhibited various bizarre behaviors on the flight, including shoving a CD into a drinks trolley thinking it was a CD player, tearing up the "yellow card" warning notice handed to him by the flight crew, claiming "I am R.E.M." and being involved in a struggle over a yogurt cup with two flight attendants, which resulted in the cup exploding. Buck's actions led to two charges of common assault on the flight attendants, one charge of being drunk on a plane and one charge of damaging British Airways cutlery and crockery.

At the ensuing trial in London, Buck's defense claimed that the moderate amount of wine he had drunk had reacted adversely with the brand of sleeping pill he was taking and rendered him unable to control his actions. The prosecution argued that he was simply intoxicated from supposedly consuming fifteen glasses of wine. After the trial, which included testimony from Bono, the lead singer of the Irish rock band U2, Buck was cleared on the grounds of non-insane automatism.

 

Based on Demi’s tweet, they’re still doing a live show at Bunbershoot in August. So if they did have a falling out, that’ll be awkward.

 

it's like hard not to speculate though. imagine hearing a band you like is breaking up or something and they give no reason and being like "i am not at all curious as to why this happened". its just not human lol

 

however the reddit nerds who were all "a transitional year means Scott is infertile and Kulap is going to divorce him and PFT is gonna take over the show" or whatever is where curiosity becomes ridiculous speculation

there was a thread on /r/earwolf at some point because Scott said 2018 would "be a transitional year" for CBB on one of the '17 best ofs, i believe. i think he cleared up what he meant on the 2018 best of a year later. he was very vague and there was all kinds of awful speculation and theorizing about his and Kulap's marriage falling apart or being unable to have children and that the show might end or hosting duties may have changed hands. the guy may have deleted it even. it wasnt just the OP but comments and additional threads. search "transitional year" on the sub and you'll prob find something if i had to guess.

turns out Scott thought he had a lot of gigs lined up and wouldnt have much free time but like almost all the gigs fell through lol

I kinda fell off listening to both UTU2TM and RUTREMRM because I wanted to listen to all the albums as I got through them and I didn't stick with it

 

damn i didn't know that. i need to watch that but i hate being sad

 

i fell off of RUTREM because i think REM is terrible

 

Around the mid-2010's she mentioned she and Scott were trying for a baby on Who Charted and other shows and it seemed like she'd been saying for 2+ years and that's why how I figured they were having trouble.

 

Re: Pardo's weird food stuff, if you guys have the early seasons there is an old episode with Scott on discussing how he dipped his pizza in the grease and Jimmy had to get up and go vomit lol

 

Sorry, I just popped in here because I saw Adam Sandler last night and thought this might be the place to talk about it...I don't follow this thread and I'm lost, but I love Adam Scott. The quote above is a joke right?

 

If you listen to the latest REM episode that came out today, at the beginning they joke that Adam got canceled. He's all good though.

 

I do feel like the amount of jokes we post/repeat in here without any context is going to break bad at some point haha
