Never in my wildest dreams did I expect Blink to be number one in 2016. I wish them nothing but the best success with this album. They deserve it!

Edit. Unless my eyes deceive me, number 1 on U.S. iTunes!!

Guys, guys... I'm like... Ehm... I can't actually ignore such stuff, so I have to say this: there is NO way in fucking HELL Matt couldn't HANDLE parts of Tom, or vice versa. No way Mark would have troubles handling Dan's parts and vice versa... Yeah, Mark used to sit and play Carousel intro... USED to do it. They are all pro-musicians now with like over 20 years expirience. That's all about songwriting approach and that's it. Matt Skiba's playing powerchords or Tom's playing easy melodies not because they can't "shred". They don't need it. They're playing pop music. And proper SONGWRITING is way more difficult than playing 14587893574893 notes per second. So... maybe it was discussed before, I'm sorry. Just have to say it. As a guitarist/pianist myself, I cannot imagine that grown up man with 20+ exp would face an issue playing some difficult guitar parts. The only thing that matters to such writers as Skiba, Hoppus, DeLonge or I dunno, guys from Good Charlotte, is catchy riff. And catchy staff is always super-simple. Or just simple. Or just a liiitle bit difficult. But it's never like metal solos on high speed. Not within this genre. Peace&love mates!

P.S. Also on Tom's shitty playing and singing on some shows... Unfortunatelly Tom did not give a flying fuck about everything. Also he was wasted. And moreover, I actually think Tom considered such behaviour as "punk" and was absolutely OK with it.

Totally agree. Writing a catchy, instant and simple melody or track isn't easy. And they are so good at it.

I can totally see them both doing pop punk jumps at the start of 'The Only Thing That Matters'! They won't.

    But they should though...

One listen in. This is about as good as pop punk gets, damn. We'll see how much staying power these songs have, and there seem to be a few that are certainly a bit forgettable, but I'm loving the sound of this Blink.

My favorite part of a new Blink record is listening to Travis fucking shred on the drums, and this album didn't disappoint in that department. Can't wait to get home later this month to drum these out.

This may have been said before, but is it just me or does Los Angeles sound like UL?

  9. Hey I'm Sorry is awesome!

Do or do not, there is no try.

"Calafornia" is already my most streamed album on Last FM, haha. Not 100% accurate as I switch between Spotify and Apple Music a lot. This is mostly Spotify as scrobbling for Apple sucks.

Well, I've listened to the record twice now and I just don't like it. It's derivative, formulaic and, most of all, tiresome.

All those "na na na" and "oh oh oh" are tiring and every song just sounds so lifeless. It feels like a follow up to TOYPAJ and that's not what I think the band does best or where I hoped they would go next.

The lyrics are terrible too. Embarrassing at times given this are almost middle aged man writing like they are in their twenties. Just no.

The Rolling Stone review mentions a return to "the golden age" and I guess it is but I'm just not interested in that return.

It doesn't work for me. Easily their worst record.

The people who are saying that Feldmann ruined the album need to get their fucking IQ checked. Mark, Matt, and Travis have been making music for nearly 3 decades and would've dropped him as a producer if they felt he was doing it wrong. Feldmann fulfilled the band's vision for this album. Its not Feldmann's fault that the album is poppy and polished. The band was going for that, and that's why they even brought him in to produce in the first place.

You'd think they would use a Mark song for the transitions haha

Still like Neighborhoods more. This album is pretty disappointing, had such a high hopes for Skiba.

The lyrics to most blink 182 songs are kind of terrible, so that aspect doesn't phase me at all. I kind of expect it. I'd argue that singing about a girl you can train in your mid twenties is just as bad/embarrassing as anything on this.

Just finally got to jam "Hey, Im sorry" and fuck I love it...really digging the bridge/outro.

I love how now as I hear all the keys being played I just picture Alabama having a blast in the studio with her dad and all his friends, what an awesome memory I'm sure.

Cant wait to add the track to the rest of the record!
