The video is nice! It’s a lot better than a lot of their full length videos, heh.

For what it is, song is pretty cool too. I think it’s the short length, but it works better for me than like Heart’s All Gone or Rabbit Hole.

Maybe not that exact line, but I feel like Mark does typically make some kind of similar joke before the song.

 

Usually before Adam's Song or STFTK they would say something like "time to get sad" or "here's a depressing song for you" or something along those lines. Probably not in the best taste which is strange because Mark and Travis have both had mental health issues in the past.

 

Mark and Travis have been very open about their bouts of depression over the years.

 

Idk he had to stop playing the song cause he couldn't even try to get through it for a long time. I always just looked at it as joking to lighten the mood for himself.

 

Same. I have a similar coping mechanism, so I get it.

 

I know there’s plenty of good short songs but I finally heard this one and it reminds me of weird demos I made when I was 15. Little one verse ideas that I never fleshed out and realized weren’t that good upon revisiting

Yeah exactly. I mean he just came off a very successful blink record and did Simple Creatures cause he said he got super depressed and needed to be busy. Depression isn't something I ever would question Mark being insensitive about

 

I just wondered if it’s a “joke” they’ve always made. I won’t debate whether it’s insensitive, but reading that quote makes me a bit uneasy.
