Evangelion is one of those things where I definitely enjoy it and appreciate the influence it's had, but I hate talking about it with people because 99% of the people I encounter are smug assholes who act like they're better than everyone just because they watched it on some bootleg VHS tape they got from their uncle's dad's sister's former roommate's cousin and like, yeah, it's deep, but they take reading too far into things onto a whole new level.

 

I watched Eva in 9th grade probably in some Quicktime video format or something on some random website. I'm excited to rewatch it, it's just so easy to watch anime nowadays compared to what I grew up with so I'm like yeah cool I can watch Eva! Or hundreds of other anime lol

 

I love how easy it is to watch anime now from when I was in high school where you could only buy like 4 eps per dvd. Now it's on like every streaming service. I still buy way too much on bluray tho lol.

 

when I was a kid we used to have to watch anime with the episodes broken up into three parts in YouTube. dark times

 

Yeah, one volume of DBZ could just be Frieza and Goku staring at each other for 3 straight discs

 

And yet anime bluray/DVD's still cost so much lol. I don't really buy much anymore unless it's something I really can't see on streaming. The last thing I bought was the deluxe blu ray of Yuri On Ice because I *needed* that though.

 

4 eps per dvd at like $30 bucks a pop

Wrong! I drove 20 minutes because I lived in a shitty small town. And then I spent money I shouldn't have because I'm an idiot and also because my depression compels me to buy shit.

 

My mom dropped my friend and I at the [redacted LI mall] where there was only a tiny Waldenbooks with like 3 shelves of manga and I spent all my babysitting money buying Love Hina and Fruits Basket

the absolute worst form of primitive streaming. did it ever happen to you where one of the parts would get removed so you'd just have to move on to the next episode and hope whatever you missed wasn't important? lol

also why did you do this there are like dedicated Simpsons websites now
