(I'm honestly kinda pissed at blink for these shenanigans too, I'm sure everyone is tired of me bitching about ticket prices and will say it's not blink's fault but I am just upset I bought my tickets early thinking they would sell out fast like in previous years and now the prices have dropped considerably and there's no way I can sell my extra for what I paid for it.)

I'd have more empathy about being fucked over by TicketMaster not price matching if there wasn't that whole "If they didn't read the fine print and didn't understand what the investment is, that's on them" part of this thread.

 

I may just bring my older brother as I think he will be in town and he got me into blink and I don't think he's ever seen them live. I'd rather bring him than sell it and make like 1/3 of what I paid for it back.

 

I stand by those comments, lol. If I had more disposable income I would invest in TTS simply because I think it would be cool to be able to say "I helped bring this into the mainstream consciousness and helped change the world" and got involved (even if with a minor investment) at the very start.

Also - apples & oranges. The fine print on Ticketmaster as far as I know says nothing about dropping prices leading up to the show where there is literally a seat right next to me available right now for half of what I paid for it. I've been going to blink shows since 2000 and this is the first time I've ever seen this. At least I told the ticketmaster customer service manager lady "THIS IS WHY YOU GOT SUED, I WILL NEVER BUY A TICKET FROM YOU AGAIN." - That is, until I want to go to another mainstream concert...

Anyway I won't bring up ticket prices in here again BUT you all should learn from my mistakes lol.

Unfortunately I've found myself in similar situations a few times. Sometimes it's best to just gift the ticket to someone you'd enjoy spending the show with than it would be to sell the ticket for a fraction of the cost. It sucks but you win some and lose some with Ticketmaster.

 

If ticketmaster was a decent company, they would give you a credit towards future tickets based on the amount of the price drop that impacted you

Would be nice if we lived in such a world. The funny thing is when I called them, I was just upset they had made a GA Pit section available after tickets went on sale, because I would've bought one ticket in the Pit, it would have been $55 cheaper than the seat I paid for, and I wouldn't have ended up with an extra because I've always done Pit for $80-90 in the past. The entire ticket process for this show/tour has been a shit show the likes of which I've never seen before. But yeah you win some, you lose some, I will be very weary about buying tix when they go on sale from Ticketmaster going forward.

I didn't actually yell at her, just used the caps for emphasis here but um, yeah I think I can be upset about the shady ticketing practices I've explained in here that is going to end up with me burning $200 not sure why you seem to take issue with everything I say.

The funny part is I would have rather invested that $200 in TTS at this point.

Yes you can! That's literally what I said in my first post. But I can also laugh at how you defend literally burning money in one of the most shady ways possible while getting mad at Ticketmaster because their return policy sucks. It's the irony of all of the complaining while defending that shitshow that I find a bit hilarious.

I'm also a little surprised you're the only person alive that didn't know Ticketmaster is garbage. But, alas, that's a different topic.

I guess when I've used Ticketmaster in the past especially for blink shows it was hard to even get the GA Pit ticket before it sold out so I was going in under the impression it would be hard to even get those good seats.

Whatever like I said I plan to learn from this experience and won't bitch about it in here anymore. Now if anyone wants an overpriced great seat for the Hartford show, you know where to find me!

I also suppose I am surprised at just how low Ticketmaster can stoop. Jason, didn't you post that banner ad that pops up on their site that is like "HURRY! BLINK 182 tickets are in high demand" - I've gotten that every time I check the site, including that fateful day I ordered two "platinum" tickets.

 

If you get a 'HURRY! (insert musical act here) tickets are in high demand' that means the exact opposite.

So funny how fans of a band react so differently to it. Blame It On My Youth came across as bland, generic, uninspired pop drivel to me. And I actually enjoy a decent amount of pop music.

Generational Divide, on the other hand, has passion, instrumentals, energy, and more packed into 49 seconds.

 

I liked that song a lot! Little bit of that, little bit of pop, and I’ll probably really like this album.

I was hoping with the graphics they’d go totally pop on the song and piss everyone off.
