The February album of the 1975? It's good ay. I keep putting it on when I'm drunk. I only found out about them this year despite seeing their posters forever. Heaps fun. Contemplating their show in a month but it's at the Olympic venue which is a shit to get to and not sure any of my friends know who they are

  2. i wasn't a fan of the direction they were going after "love me" came out. hated that song initially, and the more i listened to it in hopes that it would grow on me eventually, it never did. still can't stand it. and the other singles they released didn't wow me either. it's probably a perfect album to listen to on vinyl while you're staring out your window over the city at night while it's raining, but just to listen to and enjoy---give me that first album.

Maybe I've just been listening to the faster tracks but I always pictured it as party album. Perhaps being seductive in your dancing while courting a lady

  6. haha i guess i just remember it having mostly slower tracks. maybe i'm wrong. i only listened to the album a couple times.

I listened to this straight through a few times this week. It's not a bad album, it's just very hollow overall. Maybe It's because of Tom being gone, or maybe I've just grown out of the sound a bit. I'm just not really connecting with any of it. The lyrics are very plain and generic and sound a bit lifeless. I agree with others that have posted about enjoying the slower tracks more. I'm happy for them though considering all the controversy. It's cool that they kept going.

    Avacado: Green Gold.

Overall its good. Aside from No Future, the production really does it's best to bury Skiba's vocal nuances.

    I am a haunted house. I'm superstitious.

The 1975 and Thrice still have top 2 AOTY positions for me. Let's wait to see what Biffy Clyro is going to give us.

Let's play a game called: "Mark Hoppus' use of the poetic device 'she said' in his lyrics through time"

Pathetic - I know I’m pathetic, I knew when she said it
Apple Shampoo - and she said it could never survive…
Don't Leave Me - she said that i’m not the one that she thinks about…
Going Away To College - i’ll write you once a week”, she said
Online Songs - and she said na na na na na
The Rock Show - she said “what?”
Shut Up - shut the fuck up, she said
Go - she said i’m sorry Mark, but there’s nowhere to stay
Baby Come On - and she said “i think we’re running out of alcohol, tonight i hate this fucking town”
Cliff Diving - and she said: here comes the promise of summer
She's Out Of Her Mind - She said no I'm not, no I'm not, no I'm not alright
No Future - she said tonight's a waste of time

I'm pretty sure I read blink actually broke in AUS before America. I think pennywise took them on tour juuuust before Dammit got released

New album drops July 8th! Can't wait to hear it. Opposites is such a good record, it blows my mind that they recorded an amazing double album, put out a live album for this record after that, and also released a full B-sides album from the same recording sessions that could easily have been a follow-up. I wish blink would pull that off with California and their left over material.

The 1975's new album kills the first one, but both are great.

What's this new Blink EP everyone's talking about?

    Okay, going for it:

    Left Alone
    Cynical
    Sober
    San Diego
    Bored to Death
    Teenage Satellites
    No Future
    She's Out of Her Mind
    Rabbit Hole
    Kings of the Weekend
    The Only Thing That Matters
    California
    Los Angeles
Home is Such a Lonely Place

Note that this is simply my order of preference. For once, I can honestly say that I enjoy every song and never dread one or have an urge to skip a track.

I dunno, I'm 32 and it feels good to enjoy blink again. Mark was my dude as a teen, and Matt is my dude now, so it's perfectly synchronized. Full circle.

  22. an EP of tracks from the California sessions that didn't make the album. the idea of it has been mentioned by the band a couple times, but it's not been quite CONFIRMED yet, i don't think. i mean, i'll believe it when i see it.
