Curious -- how did you come to deciding on this song?

 

Haha, I'm the exact same boat. Luckily YC has a huge library to choose from, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I hope it gets given up at some point

I wasn't planning on naming The Takedown until I finished With You Around but since Brad said it was cool I threw it out there. I'm not dead set on that one though if anyone else really wants it.

I was looking through their songs and randomly picking ones to read the lyrics to, and I just connected to this one. Seemed to be about long distance relationships and/or missing someone which is basically my life.

 

Oh cool! It's funny you picked it because I'd say it's the least "Yellowcard" song in their discography. I remember reading a pre-Lift A Sail interview where Ryan was talking about how it's a song unlike anything they'd ever done, and thought maybe you saw that. Good luck!

 

Nope. Literally haven't heard about/heard this band in years, I have Ocean Avenue but I only listened to it once years ago. haha Thank you! I got the first verse and the first half of the chorus done earlier. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it this week, or early next.

 

@RyanPm40 Thanks; I really appreciate the compliment! I've always been self-conscious with my voice because it's rather high and nasally. I'm mistaken for a woman over the phone somewhat frequently, which I've never liked because it's not me. So hearing that people like my voice is always nice!

Convinced my friends (who are all AP/Chorus lurkers) to pitch in, but they're still deciding on which song to cover haha. Should be fun. Should've found this thread sooner! Love the song picks so far. I love With You Around, and a bit timely since the last compilation was Saves the Day haha.

That was recorded 4 years ago, went inactive due to RL, but trying to get back again.

haha yea it's crazy. Nobody wants to take the ocean avenue/ 1year6mos/only one duty. Empty apartment!

ha yeah, i thought about doing that song again, but a completely different style. i don't think i will though, unless no one chooses it. that song HAS to be on here.

 

Considered "Breathing" for a little bit but had trouble running with any idea for it that came to mind
