Doom is to FPS what Ninja Gaiden Black is to third person action games - stylish, flawless and responsive controls, challenging & rewarding, kinetically satisfying, etc.

Lol funny cuz I did the opposite, and it worked out great cuz RE7 completely scared the shit out of me. I would have been a wreck the whole playthrough of Gone Home waiting for something to happen.

 

i adore Fallout 4 holy shit. it took a while but now im finally to the point where its dominating my playtime. all i think about now is areas i should explore, how to upgrade my settlement, where i can find some new legendary weapons and armor, and just the story itself.

tell ya what this PS4 was a great investment im glad i got it. i guess i should get Doom and The Witcher 3 at some point as well.

 

After I'm done with Blood & Wine I'm getting back into Fallout 4. Can't wait to play all the dlc's.

 

its scratched that itch that New Vegas didnt quite do. Its got that magic that Fallout 3 had. That "I'll just do 1 more sidequest before bed" then stay up 4 hours later type magic. I like a lot of the changes, save for the dialogue.

 

Inside is so creepy. I love it.

what are some other great PS4 games I need to check out? I'm open for anything. Witcher 3 and DOOM are high up there since theyre getting a ton of acclaim and seem amazing. im behind on the times with this new console generation and any help would be great.

You already said it but Witcher 3 is my favorite game of the generation so far and I couldn't praise it enough (Doom's a hell of a ride too)
Uncharted 4 is Uncharted's cinematic action Indy thing brought to perfection.
Bloodborne is a fun slight twist on the Souls series if that's your thing
Overwatch is the it-game of the summer (and forever) - some of the most fun I've had in a multiplayer shooter in YEARS.

 

yeah im a huge Souls fan and Bloodborne is high on my list

Overwatch is a blast ive dumped quite a few hours into it and i dont see that changing

Ive never played an Uncharted game but ill def be on the lookout for 4

 

Child of Light has that wow factor we're always talking about. From beginning to end. I was so surprised by how much I loved everything about it, the art style, the settings, the character designs, the skill trees, the dialogue, the story, the music, the puzzles, the battles, the lore... there isn't a single thing I didn't like. Wonderful, beautiful game.

 

Day of the Tentacle! So gooooood

 

Maybe I'm sounding too pessimistic here, but is anyone actually hyped to play The Last Guardian? It's my most anticipated of 2016 so far. But I post on NeoGaf and a couple other gaming messageboards and the lack of hype is most disturbing.

The overall consensus seems to be "too little too late," which is bizarre to me since Ico was so beloved and SOTC was one of the greatest games of its generation, and the new game seems like the best of both worlds and I don't think I've encountered a single person on the interwebs who cares all that much about playing it.

Doom and TW3 are great, you probably won't be disappointed. If you like pulp adventure movies like Indiana Jones you have to get The Uncharted Collection and definitely Uncharted 4. You don't need to have played Uncharted 1-3 to appreciate 4, but it doing so will probably make the ending a bit more satisfying. Also:

- The Last of Us
- Ratchet and Clank
- Infamous: Second Son
- Wolfenstein TNO - If you love Doom, this is probably the next FPS game you'll want to play
- Metal Gear Solid 4 is probably the best stealth game out now. Tons of hours of gameplay filled with lots of drama and humor and feels
- Batman Arkham Knight if you love Batman and want a graphical benchmark game
- The Last Guardian (out in Oct)
- No Man's Sky (out in August)
