It’s honestly crazy that this team was in last place in the league in the calendar year of 2019. They were *THIS* close to a total firesale. I woke up today feeling fine with the loss. Respect to St. Louis for one hell of a season.

 

I’m obviously devastated, but good for the Blues. I picked them to win it all at the start of the playoffs, just wish it wasn’t at the expense of the Bruins. They just worked their asses off. Great team.

 

Hopefully Steen brings the cup to Winnipeg. Wouldn't mind getting a picture with it. Last year Madison Bowey brought it here which was cool.

 

I’m still at a loss for words. Just booked my flights home for the parade.

My friends all want me to fly back for it but one of them is out of town on vacation anyway so it wouldn't even be the whole group. Just going to buy a boatload of merch and give tearing up all day as I remember it.

I stayed offline all night last night as I just wanted to watch the game with my kids and family and be present. It was so worth it. My kids would come high five me after each goal. Wife came in and gave me a kiss. Best friend facetimed with 2 minutes to go. SO many happy tears. I honestly thought I would never get to experience a cup win. It's so surreal. Off to read all the blogs and takes now... to most likely cry some more. WHAT A GAME, SEASON, TEAM, STORY.

 

What else is there to even say?

 

just think about how the patriots will win next season

I’m superstitious as hell so that’s where I’ve been during this run. Watched the game with my brother and wife. Cried multiple times. Went to the Blues bar here in Chicago and got absolutely smoked.

I have to be at this parade - wouldn’t miss it for the world.

 

i didn't realize that ROR was on Buffalo last year and wanted out due to all the losing. imagine him being traded to STL only to be the worst team in the league for most of the year until January-ish - especially after Buffalo looked real good on that 10 game win streak - and thinking, "my god i'm on another team that always loses" to then have the team turn around, go on a tear, win the fucking cup and he's MVP. what a crazy story.

 

tomorrow i'm going to start a "rewatch" of the season and watch every St. Louis game in chronological order. will be fun to see it play out knowing what we know now and will be interesting to see how different they play the first few months of the season vs after the New Year.

 

I will never understand why Buffalo moved ROR.

 

There was an article recently (on the athletic) where he discusses just that. How he thought he was a curse and was just a terrible teammate but now he realizes that's not true.
