I was very close to getting a writeup like less than an hour ago because someone there who sporadically speaks to me like I'm nothing got on my nerves and I got angry and (apparently) responded to him in a tone he interpreted as yelling and bam, sent to the office later that day. Thank Jesus the person who spoke to me about it was cool and could see that I wasn't DELIBERATELY yelling

No, that is distressing. We all have the right to defend ourselves. I don’t take shit from people at work - especially in the restaurant business where servers will step on other servers with total disrespect. I do snap right back when I’m treated that way.

I would just say be honest with yourself and with management about why you reacted that way. I really don’t feel like people can expect a person to not have self esteem and pride that’s worth more than just letting themselves get shit on
