You guys seriously don't believe they are done?? I don't get it. They say they are done, they put out merch that says they are done.... I don't get it. Why do you guys all think they are tricking you? It's pretty well known they don't enjoy being Brand New very much, what make you think you are being tricked?

If this all ends up being a weird marketing thing for their album or whatever I'll gladly admit I was wrong. I just don't see that being a thing. I think 100% that are calling it quits come 2018 and they just suck really really bad about talking about it with fans.

 

I mean, if you watch the video, I get where they're coming from. It's that wry smile when he says "Oh yeah, we're done." It looks and sounds like sarcasm.

With that said, oh yeah, they're done. They've made it clear enough for me to believe them.

 

I'm not gonna miss this band at all when they're gone. haha

 

I mean yeah I saw the video and was there last night. I think Jesse doesn't know how to talk to fans and stuff so it comes across like sarcasm.

 

I think I'll miss them, I won't miss the majority of the fan base though...

 

Brand New have been my favorite band for quite sometime and I will be sad when we don't get new music from them again. That said I definitely won't miss the fan base that I see at their shows. No clue why, but Brand New fans seem to be the absolute worst of the worst for concert goers

 

I definitely won't miss the fan base. I'll rephrase a little, I'm (very) excited for a final album, but when that's done I think I'm gonna be as done with Brand New as Brand New is. They've released some good stuff, but I can't help but feel they've kind of been broken up since I got into them, and then 5 years before that too. It's kind of exhausting to follow and wait for them.

I'm going to approach this show as if it were my last BN show ever. I think going in with this mentality will help spare me some disappointment if they end up not returning in the future. We obviously can't know what their plans and intentions are, so I'm honestly not sure whether or not this will end up being their last Michigan show. Treating this as my 3rd and final BN show will preemptively give me closure if that turns out to be true. And, if I do get to see them again before they're done, that will be like a special bonus surprise, haha.

I can count on one hand the number of days until my show. Getting very antsy and excited.

Complaining about people making assumptions about their expiration date then saying this.

 

Whats to miss? We went 7 years almost without a peep, its already like they were gone.

You're absolutely making assumptions we know just as much about how much they like doing the band as they are breaking up in 2018. Acting that they for sure don't like being a band is just as ridiculous as saying they aren't breaking up. They are both different assumptions based on nothing.

 

I literally cannot wait for Brand New to go away.

Yep, same here. I think even some of their biggest fans are starting to adopt this mindset.

 

Yeah, I love Brand New and all, but they have definitely taken the air of mystery that surrounded their band and run it into the fucking ground.

 

Either release a new album or break up. Do one or the other.

 

Agreed, but they basically already did in 2010. So it won't be much of a change.
