Went 6s Plus because I got a really good deal on it. Size seems a little intimidating but on the plus side, reading comics/books seems a bit more feasible than on my 5s so that's an upside. Idk I'm psyched for it to get here later this week.

Saw this image this morning. It's kind of wild. Is it really that hard to get the anodization right across all products?

Space Gray is basically "whatever is darker than Light Gray".

We also have to take into account that they use different alloys across product lines, even the 6s is noticeably different to touch than a regular 6.

    aren`t they both just aluminum?

no, man. Like for example in the 6s they reduced the amount of Teflon in the alloy to make it less slippery, which in turn made the 6s noticeably heavier than the 6, but far, far less slippery.

The 6s is heavier than the 6 because of the 3D Touch display.

Also, there is no way I would say there is a 'noticeable difference' in touch between the two devices.

Yes, the 3D touch display also adds to the heft, but feel free to google what I said earlier if you need corroboration.

You're free to think whatever you want, but the iPhone 6s is factually (also due do the increased weight) grippier than the 6 and that is largely due to a change in materials for the better (remember bendgate?)

fack thanks for making me feel like poop about my 6 lol.

has anyone taken there iphone abroad? I'm wondering if I should get a data plan (expensive) or figure out how to use the phone on wifi/offline

I mean, if we want to base it off one or two opinions on the internet, then sure I'll say there is a noticeable difference.

To the other 99.8% of the public, it would be unnoticeable. Even more so after use, with skins oils and what not making any noticeable difference in the materials non-existent. I'm not arguing that there is, or isn't, a difference between the two. I'm just arguing that it's not noticeable.

Also, the same article you linked says the new aluminum adds the weight of three marshmallows. Thus, practically nothing. 99% of the added 'heft' comes from the new touch display.

Chris, for the love of god, have you HELD both? I'm a 6'2" bear and even to me it's obvious.

And I'm not using opinions on the Internet, I am supplying additional proof to my first-hand account.

Yes, I've owned both and never use a case. Also, how would your size have anything to do with your sense of touch?

    we were talking about weight.

also how would you know anything about anything with your numb fucking hands? how'd you even type this? :crylaugh:

also high 5 for not using cases. not that your hands could tell the difference.

I literally said, in the post you quoted, it weighed more. We disagree on the true reason it weighs more.

You're just trolling at this point.

According to Apple, the aluminum in the 6S Plus only weighs 2 grams more than the aluminum in its predecessor. The aluminum in the 6S weighs a gram less than that in the 6. So, the new aluminum might keep iPhones from bending in half, but it's not to blame for the weight gain.

It turns out the extra heft comes almost solely from that new 3D Touch display. The display assembly now weighs over twice as much as before. In the 6, the display used to weigh 12 grams — it now weighs 29 grams. That's because Apple had to add an entirely new layer to its display assembly to measure pressure. There's a new capacitive pressure sensor built into the backlight of the display; as rumored, it makes the screen slightly thicker and quite a bit heavier.

It's a stupid argument, but I'm not going to let a person call me out when they obviously have no idea what they are talking about, and make trolling remarks.

    I'm moving on.

Anyone have any suggestions for an app that lets me keep track of tv shows so I remember when they come on for dates and when new seasons start etc?

At concerts I don't have a problem if someone wants to take some pictures or a few videos (or maybe even one full song). Just be mindful of the brightness and don't be on it all the time

I personally think it's fine. People shooting video at concerts, and posting the video online, is bound to do more bad for an artist than good, I would think.

Also, most museums and what not have 'no photography' signs posted, but that alone doesn't stop people from taking pictures of those things.

Most sporting/music events have paid photographers too, so I'd have to think that has some kind of negative effect on their careers. It's certainly not positive in any way for them.
