I've never listened to this band but I'm enjoying the opener a ton. This is not what I thought this band sounded like haha.

How have you never listened to them?

i really don't know. I like dabbled maybe 2 years bc i asked for recs like "The Moth" and someone suggested them but I don't really remember if i ever actually listened. what record by them should I play next?

 

everyone's gonna say swoon they're not wrong

 

but also i think if you like how different this album sounds, maybe you should advance backwards into better nature

Absolutely, that's whats really pulling me in along with the great vocal performances. I love simple but thoughtful guitar work and this album has a ton of that. this is my favorite thing I've heard today, (3 records in)

 

Simpatico is EXCELLENT.

 

You really can't go wrong with any of them. I would just start from the beginning and enjoy the ride.

 

i love the title track, it reminds me of.. cocteau twins kinda?

 

i hope they make another record with vig, this is a GREAT fit

 

you really can't go wrong, but i'd listen to neck of the woods next!


really liking this album, there's a little bit of everything you could want here, and it sounds new on top of all of that. and dang, the production is excellent!

 

songbirds is very much my S***

 

"we are chameleons" is tight as hell

this album somehow subverted my expectations entirely (it's not nearly as claustrophobic and angry as better nature, it feels full of air and space) and was a really rewarding and exciting listen, what a good band

 

this is such a good album. production is slammin.

 

damn the fucking guitar in the closing track thats some classic sspu toneage

 

After the first couple of listens, the only song I'm not wild about is Bag of Bones. Not bad, just not my favorite.

yea, this is def my surprise release of the day. I can't wait to spin it again.

Finally listening. First song is great!

 

I was a little underwhelmed with Better Nature but I did eventually come around to it. This one on the other hand has hit me immediately! I think I’m on my fifth or sixth listen today. So good!
