I love Llewyn Davis, it’s a contender for my favorite Coen brothers.

I also think Hail, Caesar got underrated by many, but then if you look at my top 5 of the decade list I’m always in the bag for anything where Channing Tatum dances.

I watched Hail, Caesar on a plane, and I feel like that was pretty much the perfect environment for it. Haven’t felt the need to go back to it since, unlike most of their other films.

My personal favorites list would probably be pretty different from my list of their objective best if I had to think about it. Miller’s Crossing in particular would be waaaaaay higher on mine than the general.

I'm not really a big Coen brothers fan in general. Even after multiple watches of certain movies, most of them do nothing for me. The only one I could say I love is Raising Arizona.

Like, I'd say the Fargo series is way better than the movie. I know it's not a fair comparison in general though.

I do not understand the love for True Detective S1. The nihilistic rants made me recoil. I don't think it was a helpful display of depression or disillusionment. But I recognize the bleak tone just may not be for me.

It’s an absolute contender for most overrated of the decade, since we’ve opened the floodgates on lists. I liked aspects of it, but so much is eyeroll worthy at best and hugely problematic otherwise.

Don’t agree but I respect it, probably my second favorite.

Feel like A Serious Man is criminally underrated, should be up there as one of their best.

A Serious Man, No Country, Blood Simple, Llewyn Davis, Raising Arizona, Burn After Reading, and Big Lebowski are probably my top tier. I get why people are sick of it/hearing about it but Big Lebowski deserves its reputation/acclaim which may be an unpopular opinion at this point.

Swap No County for Fargo and our lists would be very similar.

  12. Fargo has always been my favorite but it’s such a specifically minnesota film and being from here probably warps my view of it more than their other films

    Llewelyn Davis is perfect

I tried to start Intolerable Cruelty again the other week, it was tough — think I made it 30 minutes. Maybe I’ll eventually refinish.

My poor grandparents paid to see The Ladykillers and I think they also made it about that far. They’re the only people I’ve ever met who actually got that far when it came out, lol.

(As in attempting a viewing at all.)

Brad Pitt’s “You fuck!” right after he gets punched was maybe the hardest I’d laughed at a movie at that point in time

    “Worried?”

“About the security...... of your shit

Everyone is fantastic in that movie but Brad Pitt is just out of fucking sight
