Does Chelsea even have the personnel to run a 3-5-2?

  2. Oh ok. Makes sense. I didn't know if clubs do those remotely.

Absolutely not at the moment. Doesn't fit their players at all. They'd need at least two new CBs, they'd have to convert Azpi into a wingback, which he doesn't suit, and then buy another one for the other flank, because Ivanovic is a million miles away from being able to play wingback.

They'd need at least one new midfielder for a midfield three of Matic-Fabregas-box to box midfielder. They'd also need two additional strikers.

Where does Hazard or Willian fit into a 3-5-2? Doesn't make the first bit of sense to me.

@George Definitely what I was thinking about mostly, across the board. Though, Ivanovic did a pretty decent job filling in at CB towards the end of the season iirc.

Pretty excited for Miazga to hopefully be learning defense under Conte, though. Especially if he's to have any future as a Nat.

99.8% of all tvs in Iceland watched the game against England. That's just crazy.

Be sure to drink your Ovaltine.

Conte hasn't used the 3-5-2 exclusively but I think that's the goal. Of course, personnel moves will play a large part in that so I'll hold off getting a player kit for at least a year.

  11. Welp.

I'd give my usual "sports suck" but Cavs are Champs and the Tribe have won 11 (!!!) in a row, so whatever.

I still get to use my infamous "I hate sports" phrase for the time being.

When my friends and I drink, we all turn into optimistic Minnesota sports fans. To the point where we've come up with a drunken handshake type thing to remember which of our sports teams are slated to win the titles in which years.

We've got 9 championships in the next 5 years, btw. Watch out.

  13. if Cleveland can do it, Minny def can too

Minnesota's last championship was the WNBA team, their winningest team too, I think

The next time you hear a Daily Mail journalist moaning about the lack of access to England players, show them a copy of their paper’s hatchet job on England players in Wednesday’s edition of the paper. It is a hateful, spiteful attack. Nothing more, nothing less. It also appears in the news section of the paper.

Sometimes Mediawatch is presented with something so laughable that it’s impossible to swallow whole. With that in mind, Mediawatch presents the following lines from the piece. When reading each one, remember that the headline is ‘No wonder they’re losers’; these are presented as reasons for England’s failure.

    On Wayne Rooney:
    On Joe Hart:
    On Chris Smalling:
    On Raheem Sterling:
    On Dele Alli:
    On Adam Lallana:
    On Kyle Walker:
    On Jamie Vardy:
    On Jack Wilshere:
Mediawatch agrees that it was probably Ruby Mae’s playsuit, Call of Duty and Liverpool’s Nivea adverts that cost England. It’s all about marginal gains.

At least, on this evidence, they weren't ogling any of the players' underage children.

I don't understand the meaning of this piece. It's some spurious bile and vague comments gleaned from Wikipedia. What's the point?
