They can pay ARob whatever they're gonna pay him. He's worth it. He's trending toward being a receiver who can do everything, more like a Brandon Marshall than just a jump ball third down guy. Immediately one of our top 3 franchise pieces moving forward. Zero character, ego, or work ethic issues as well. He just goes to work. I expect 10 years of thrilling football from him.

Also means there is a 0% chance that the Skins sign Kirk Cousins to a long-term deal. If they were balking at handing him the per/year he wanted before, now the price just went up 20%

 

Sure hope he plays better than last year from here on out.

 

I'm still not sold on giving Kirk a long-term deal, but if I were them and I wanted to I'd offer him about $20.5/per. That's between Luck and Dalton.

 

Seriously. I would argue that he's not a top ten quarterback right now as it is. I know he got hurt last year and played through some injuries before going out completely, but he didn't look great before then either.

But this is primarily due to the cap going up overall, so whatever.

 

You could make that argument pretty easily, I'd agree with it.

He's fallible, prone to getting hit and takes too many chances against a blitz. Take away his ability to be consistent and you've got a high production high INT gunslinger with mobility who holds the ball too long. Who else does that sound like?

Im not worried about matching QB production now.that i know Bortles can handle high pass volume. Jags can totally top the Colts in the division if the huge defensive improvements on paper translate into us having a much better defense. Luck and Bortles are both going to put up numbers; and neither team has a stellar running game. Victories between them will be decided by which defense can force the most errors.

With the kind of closing speed we can now generate toward passes (Ramsey, Telvin, Jack are all stupid fast, Gipson and Amukamara are both very quick to react and close on the ball.with proper angles), I'd say that defense is ours for the most part. The Colts don't have close to as many gameplan-disrupting weapons as we do if we can play cohesively.
