Very cool, but I do have 2 issues with it, one major and one minor (pun only half-intended)

Minor: The cut from the studio audio to live recording during the Artist segment is a little abrupt/jarring

Major: The inclusion of only one Earth song and no Air songs, especially the latter, makes me very sad.

we're all a bunch of weirdos on a quest to belong Prestigious

Nah two friends came with me and we got a hotel and stuff so it wasn't too bad. When we got tickets they hadn't announced the fall tour with a Utah date so we bought tickets for Denver thinking they weren't going to hit up SLC. Totally worth it though!

Thanks for all the input guys! I think I'll re work it and make it a little shorter in time and some more songs. I did leave out Air and would love to have added Dust of Nations, Promises and Daedalus. The section for the new album has 4 songs and is probably one of the shortest, so I'll probably go after that model. I just have to unattach my love for some of the those longer segments....

Here's the liner notes for Vheissu. I'll get the ones for Beggars up soon.

All my liner notes were lost in a flood, well, not lost, but they are crinkled up now and awful :/

Because of Blink 182's California, I began to ponder the notion of how Thrice could write the greatest California-themed concept record to date (a la TAI).

Surprisingly, I've never read these. I knew Riley was a big contributor on guitar but I didn't realize he contributed THIS MUCH back then.

If Thrice gets nominated/wins a Grammy, even as "pointless" as they are, I will lose my mind.

I know Artist had similar notes as well. If I remember correctly, they were in individual inserts that could change the album cover. It was always a pain to take them out, as they would always fall and scatter. But I have long since lost that CD. :(

I had it at one point but I can't find it. I think you're right about the inserts though. I'm hoping I run across it again.

Yeah, I did a quick google search and have found references that confirm what I remember. Unfortunately, I haven't come across any pictures. I remember at the time thinking it was the coolest damn thing.

so front page has the article that @Craig Ismaili did on the NYC show and had some great photos attached. I wanted to use some for wallpaper purposes, but wondered if anyone on this thread managed to get any high quality group shots?

Genius 4th quarter single/EP release with the B-Side and a couple acoustic renditions of Black Honey and The Long Defeat. Boom.

As a Thrice fan of decade and a half, I'm very saddened that this album has just not clicked with me. I liked Major/Minor a lot more than most people did, but, for whatever reason, this album sounds amateurish to me, from the melodies, to the lyrics, to the production.

I'm with you for the most part. Got the album it on release day and have listened to it regularly and I find myself only really wanting to listen to Hurricane, Widow, Long Defeat and Black Honey. I think the album is well written, but to me doesn't have the staying power of all their discography. M/M is such an good album :-)

After loving this album so much I decided to give M/M another chance. I listened to it all last week, and found I still can't get into it. Not a single bad song on the album, just no great ones either.

I didn't like the album much at first, but it has really grown on me. Now it's really only "Stay with me" I don't enjoy. I still feel 'Salt and Shadow' is one of the best songs they've ever written.

M/M was a great album musically, but I didn't like the fact that the lyrics were so religious. I always admired that he was able to write lyrics with religious themes without being in your face, and still being relatable to non-religious people.

The only tracks I really enjoy on this album are The Long Defeat and Blood on the Sand. The rest just feel uninspired and hastily written to me. Dustin's melodies are probably my biggest sticking point, which is surprising given how much I love his solo work.

Meanwhile, Treading Paper is lyrically probably my favorite Thrice song and, musically, it's up there. And I also really enjoy Words in the Water, Disarmed, Blinded, and Cataract.

And, to stay on board with the rankings trend:

    The Alchemy Index III/IV
    The Artist in the Ambulance
    The Alchemy Index I/II
