Yeah, on the podcast, the guy says they tried to have them do Russian accents or some sort of eastern European, but it felt too forced to have them use accents as they would over-act to compensate for not being native Russian speakers. It did not pull me out at all. Such an amazing show.

Did not expect the finale to start the way it does. Really heartbreaking.

 

This was fantastic. Horrifying from start to finish.

 

The epilogue got me hard.

The stress stays high, but the way it comes out changes throughout the series.

 

Yep, very true. But it's definitely worth the watch and at least you don't have to wait each week agonizing over what's going to happen next, you can just get it over with lol

 

There's a picture of Lyudmilla on the /r/ChernobylTV reddit and it's crazy how similar looking the actress they got to portray her is. It's pretty heartbreaking even seeing her real face, so I didn't link it here but I recommend looking it up.

 

Watched the finale. This should clean up at the Emmys.

 

I saw that! Her and the reactor tech with the mustache and glasses were spot-on visually.

 

Interview with Craig Mazin. Haven't had time to finish reading this yet, but it's great so far.

HBO’s Chernobyl is a terrific miniseries. Don’t accept it as the whole truth.

 

Best show in years. Ep 1 and 5 were my favorite.

Great interview; the below I didn't know. Really helps cement the fact how dramatizing certain events is incredibly important for the show, or else it'll get really boring, and nobody will want to watch that. As long as it sticks close enough, is all that matters

They know this guy; they want to hear from him. But it’s important, then, for me to go on the podcast and say, “Okay, but in reality, here’s the real truth-truth, which is not narratively interesting.” So in the context of what you’ve seen, you’re now interested in going further and getting more. And that stuff is not a story. That stuff is just truth."
