I really love both of these new songs. They both have this hopeful sadness to them that I really dig.

  3. So this means we're probably getting the solo record this year and then an E Street album next year, right?!?

Boy did that Broadway show seem to fire his creativity back up.

I'm so excited to hear the whole thing. Really impressed by the songs we've gotten so far.

I have managed to completely refrain. It has not been easy.

    All 3 are soooooo good.

“There Goes My Miracle” didn’t hit me right away but it’s grown on me big time. His vocals initially turned me off but now are what drove me back to the song.

  10. Listened to the first song about three times, the second one once, and haven't listened to Tucson Train but boy is it hard.

One of the custodians at my work is a Bruce superfan. Loaned me old bootlegs and copies of Backstreets Magazine to peruse. And he wants to talk about how awesome the songs are like every. damn. day. But I know I'll appreciate hearing it as a whole.

  12. Happy 35th birthday to Born in the USA, a truly remarkable record. Favorite three songs from the album?

    1. My Hometown
    2. Downbound Train
    3. No Surrender

  14. Murder Incorporated is a great one but my three favorites that didn't make the record have to be Shut Out the Light, Pink Cadillac, and My Love Will Not Let You Down

  15. Oh fuck, nope sorry forgot that "This Hard Land" was from this era. That's my second-favorite "missed-the-cut" Springsteen song of all time after "The Promise"

I’ve never been THAT fond of Born in the USA to be honest but still has some knockouts.

    1. I’m On Fire
    2. My Hometown
    3. No Surrender

Second half of this record is so stacked.

I've thought about this a lot. There are not many records where the B-Side is significantly stronger than the A but this album is my go-to example. The end of this record is unreal.

  19. If Born to Run wasn't a thing No Surrender would be the best B-side opener ever

The first half is fun. The second half is this wonderful nighttime nostalgia trip. It really elevates how I feel about the album.

There are so many missed the cuts, but I think top 5 are
    "Seaside Bar Song"
    "Thundercrack"
    "Because the Night"
    "Where the Bands Are"
    and "Fire"

Just from BITUSA era / sessions, I think my top songs that didn't make the cut would have to be:

    This Hard Land
    Shut Out The Light
    Janey, Don't You Lose Heart

but also, My Love Will Not Let You Down and Frankie.

I mean, that is half a fucking album of stone cold classics straight off the cutting room floor – from an album that is already pretty much 12 straight absolute hits right in a row.
