Scott Pilgrim is toxic in the movie itself lol. He's a 22 year old dating a naive 17 year old, who uses his position as someone in a band to date someone who is obsessed with him. Even if they're not intimate, it's still really fucking creepy.

But is he made to look good in this? Simply showing something on screen doesn’t mean it’s condoning it.

I've only watched it once, but it seems to me that he's the hero of the story. It's him vs the world. And he comes out on top.

 

Yeah that's the thing that the toxic fans misunderstand, the movie and the books are pretty clear that he is not a good guy and is definitely not someone to be looked up to.

I think the movie does an awful job of portraying this, but I've only seen it once and that was years ago.
