@pbueddi out of curiosity what are the other b-sides? i wouldn’t mind getting a head start on them!

Yeah i kind of forgot there were that many too. Most of them come from the later half of their discography though.

 

I think Fight Song (which features The Game) was originally supposed to be on Good Morning Revival. That one and a few others were eventually left off the record. The other ones were never made available as far as I know.

Edit: One of them was supposed to feature karen-o and fabolous.

 

Continuing the Good Morning Revival tangent, i found link to a page that has the text from an interview before it came out. I don’t think they have ever really said what happened to this version of the record. It was supposed to come out October 2006, but kept getting delayed. Not sure if they scrapped it or what. I remember some guy on their message boards claiming to have heard this version. Anyways here’s that link:

I know there are a lot of GC demos out there but not sure what year they were recorded or for what record they were intended for. The track titles named in that article aren’t any that are out there unless it went through a name change.

 

Legit don’t think I’ve heard any of those other b-sides.

 

They all should be on Youtube. A lot of them are Best Buy or iTunes exclusive tracks.

 

It’s so weird though. They were obviously songs at one point. Thats not the only interview where i saw those song titles. It’s just the only one i could dig up yet on the internet. Joel and Benji have talked in the past about putting out a bunch of their unreleased stuff. I hope that happens at some point.

 

Yeah certainly is strange. Maybe as the recording sessions went on they wrote other songs they liked better and those older songs didn’t end up fitting with the album as a whole? GMR is probably my least favorite album so if they didn’t feel the songs were goof enough for the album I can only imagine how good/bad they are.
