Well, I just got around to listening to the 2018 ST album and I'm sad I slept on that for so long.

Holy shit Sam Pura

 

First listen through. Doing it with the proper headphones and a nice drink. Just finished Starting Over / Slow Down and I think my heart skipped a few beats when it happened. This immediately feels like an album I'll still be listening to and treating with special attention in 10+ years.

 

I can't believe this lives up to the hype I've been reading here today haha

As others have said, I'm so glad Matt is with this band. I miss the Graduate and I love hearing his influence throughout these songs.

 

This is an AOTY contender for sure

 

I’m in love with 6 of em so far, and that’s a winner in my book. Just need a lil more time. Still listening front to back.

 

Their self titled was #5 on my list last year ... that’s how highly I thought of it. Excited to see where this sits in 6 months!

On listen #5 or so.... Just started laughing out loud during the middle of SO/SD because it's so fucking good omg hahah

Edit: Since eyes are watching in here, I want to echo many others. The production on the whole album is top notch and unique and unexpected in the best ways possible.

 

What really makes me excited for this is how y’all have namedropped every song in the album for being exceptional.

 

Hey everyone. The band showed me this thread this morning and it’s honestly been a whirlwind of emotions for me to check in on this and see the interaction over this record. I’m so incredibly inspired and thankful for all the positive response here. We all worked so hard on this record and to see such passionate interaction over this album is simply overwhelming and extremely validating. We really tried to make something that counts and emotionally connects with not only ourselves but ideally all of you. I’d be happy to answer any questions and will be seeing the dudes in a few days and plan to create a podcast episode where we chat about each song on the record. I’m ecstatic to interact with anyone who is equally as passionate about this record as I am as it is literally the only thing I live for... to make music that emotionally connects with you.

Listening to this album while reading everyones reactions has made this experience 10x better. This record is a certified beauty.

Edit: just got to it is real and ben going “this shit is so sick” made me lol hella hard. I had that exact thought as he said it.

 

I will gladly buy this album for anyone who needs it but don't have the opportunity to.
Everyone need to hear this and feel it.

 

This is just so big. I know how much rfts and war paint mean to a lot of people. I myself am bipolar and those records plus golden record litterally turned my life around and put words to a lot of thoughts and feelings. They made me understand myself and realise something was not right and set me on the path to get help.

And now it feels like we've got another cult classic masterpiece that will bring so must joy and comfort to old and new fans.

The journeys we've made in life and aj and the bands journey, like, I can't listen to some songs without totally cracking.
