Do set times overlap a lot? Looking at the Saturday lineup I'm already dreading conflicts from MCS-Morissey as most of the bands I want to see will play during that stretch.

 

My buddy who I have gone with every year is saying he wants to sell his tickets now.

 

Really the only band I hoped we'd get and didn't is Piebald. Additions of The Bronx and Sleater-Kinney totally make up for it though.

Friday- The Anniversary, Jimmy Eat World, NOFX, Refused, Tigers Jaw, Fu Manchu, Diarrhea Planet, Off With Their Heads, Laura Stevenson

Saturday- Moz, Brand New, Death Cab, The Hives, Motion City, The Hold Steady, Bob Mould, The Vandals, Fucked Up, Summer Cannibals

Sunday- Sleater Kinney, Bad Religion, Thursday, Andrew WK, The Bronx, The Falcon, The So So Glos

Yes, we're pretty much screwed Saturday. You can look at past years and I'm sure they will do their best, but it will be a nightmare.

 

I think he might go Friday and try to sell the others. I don't know how it works. He has a 3-day pass.

 

If you do print at home (not sure if there are other options), you get one ticket with the same barcode for all three days. So you can print it three times or just once and use the same one. That makes things a little difficult when selling one day of a 3-day pass because you have to trust that whoever you sell to won't use that ticket again.

 

How long are sets usually ?

 

Sets are typically 30 minutes for the very early shows, 45 minutes for the mid-afternoon shows, 60 minutes for evening shows and usually 75-90 minutes for headliners. Example: Riot Fest Chicago set times announced - News - Alternative Press

 

Think I might at least get a one day pass for Friday now since I know I'll be home for it. Ton of potential for set overlaps right in the middle though (TDEP, Touche, DP, OWTH), and actually I think I'm more than fine shelling out money for a 3 day pass since I would love to see a ton of these bands that I should have listened to long ago lol.

Starred bands are must-see. It looks like I won't have to arrive too early or stay til the end most days, which will be nice. I'm also a little bummed we didn't get 2 Chainz.

Also, I'm comfortable in saying that The Flaming Lips were not supposed to be the third headliner.

 

SO pissed that we don't get 2 Chainz.

 

yeah this year's festival doesn't interest me at all and now that i see the way the bands were split, there's not even that one day that gets me pumped. Good try, but not for me.

Underwhelming 2nd wave for sure, but there's still tons that I'm excited for. It's also nice that each day has less and less, gives me more time to relax, wander, and check out new bands.

I'm just waiting for the MCS after show to be honest. Hoping maybe we'll get a underoath and jimmy eat world one also.

What bands were ya hoping for?

 

Officially bought my pass! Friday is going to be remarkable.

 

I had expectations the second wave would be total garbage. Julian Marley doing Exodus is a bucket list kind of deal, and the Flaming Lips put on one of the best shows I've ever seen, so cool. Definitely worried about those Misfits/Rob Zombie/Sleater-Kinney/Deftones/Bad Religion/Thursday/Death Grips/Chevy Metal conflicts though. Damn
