Good band and the vocalist went on to be in Fake Figures with members of Atreyu and Scars of Tomorrow.

 

I was actually on their street team and got backstage for the second stage at Ozzfest that year. Got to meet most of the second stage bands as well as David Draiman. My buddy is pissed to this day bc Newsted kinda blew him off when he asked for an autograph. But he was getting ready to go onstage and my buddy was in the wrong so I still give him shit about it.

 

Aaron Lewis has to have one of the most amazing voices and I really hope we get a new Staind album soon. Also, it’s a 360 view so if you pan to the left you can see Sully from Godsmack playing guitar. Not the biggest fan of them but I did enjoy their first two albums.

 

I'm super down with the first Godsmack album.

 

Welcome is definitely a good place to start. Plead The Fifth is very underrated and is actually my favorite of theirs. It came out in 2010 and definitely didn't get the attention it deserves. Now Arise, Release Me, and Stares are standout tracks for me but the whole album is really good.

 

LOVE Taproot. They most recently released a boxset with a full disc worth of B-Sides from EACH album session. I realy want to check it out but it's like $50. Anyone heard any of it?

I think it's a CD set which is another thing that has kept me from ordering it. I think they're selling it on their website independently.

So I've been on a little bit of a nu metal rabbit hole today (because of this thread) and was reminded of super group Dark New Day. Which led me back to Corey Lowery of Stereomud/Stuck Mojo. But until just now, I didn't realize he also plays in Seether and that Clint (duh) is his brother.

edit: and how did I completely miss out on Eye Empire.

Yeah same here. I would buy it if it was digital, or even if I had an easy enough way to digitize it myself.

 

Plus, I think it’s for the super fans and I’m a fan but not that much so.

 

I'd consider myself a big enough fan to get it, but I'd probably only listen to it once through and then never touch it again. I love the band and all of their records. I have and would drive 100+miles to see them live. But I still only listen to their music super occasionally nowadays.

 

The new Northlane track is definitely approaching nu metal territory... going to be a darker album for them. Getting more and more excited to hear it.

Cold has some good ass songs, same as Hurt! TTB is probably their best song for sure.

They were probably my favorite band in middle school going into highschool. Love their first three albums and they probably still hold up (I hope). I feel like they fell off a ton after that, but their latest one last year was really good I though. He'll always have a great singing voice so I liked all the slow jams on it.

We don't talk about that song.

Those singles are great, but if you are going to do a full album I recommend Blue Sky Research, that's probably their overall best album. I was lucky enough to see them tour with Chevelle which was an amazing show.

One of my favorite vocalist. The last Staind album was so great, I really do hope we get another.

I really like their run of their first album through Faceless (which is probably their best).

They got pretty stale though after, even though there were a few great songs after though like this one.

 

What's everyone's favorite nu metal ballad or slow song? I think I might have to go with Roulette by System of a Down.
