Holy shit, that’s wild. They retired his number in 1989 when he was 30 years old! lol. Who pulled the trigger on that decision?

The more I look into his career and read about him the more I realize how absurd it is he got in.

 

If I recall, Matt Harvey is a notoriously selfish dude. This comes as no surprise.

 

I will never for the life of me understand why they went into this season without upgrading the bullpen at all. I wasn't anticipating them going after Kimbrel in particular, nor did I really think they should have. But they needed to get some help from somewhere. Did they think this group of no-names, has-beens, and castoffs was magically gonna be effective? Now they've put themselves in a dire position to have to overpay for Kimbrel instead of just stabilizing it prior to the start of the season. Like, I can't really keep track of all the losses so far this season simply because the bullpen sucked complete ass. Didn't we get swept by Arizona or someone like that bc the bullpen basically showed up in three games straight and just walked like 50 people? It's stupid, man. Let's go an entire half season and lose a ton of games and then fucking decide "shit. This bullpen sucks and we should do something about it." The writing was on the wall all winter long that this group of bullpen scrubs wasn't going to accomplish shit. It drives me nuts that we've got a lineup probably as good as anyone's, but the fate of every game is left in the hands of a bunch of AAA caliber relievers. Fuck.

I haven't taken last night's loss very well.

yikes. and bad outfield play looks so bad with all the space there is to roam, so much more apparent than a 2b having bad range or whatever
