Watched from Cody’s match to the end. Good show. Have some criticisms but nothing major. I think I can do without watching Jericho wrestle anymore. And lol at whoever it was on commentary that called him genericho a couple of times. Overall I liked the commentary but Alex Marvez wasn’t good and he had no chemistry with JR and/or Excalibur.

I’m surprised they let Pentagon throw out the “p” word so much seeing how it’s basically a gay slur. I’ve only seen the bucks a handful of times and it was definitely a fun match. I just hate how they do these devastating looking tandem moves and their opponents just get right up to take the next spot. Especially when those moves look better than their actual finisher. I guess it wouldn’t be so bad if it was just one time but they do it a few times. Like Jericho hit a top rope code breaker and that would be a super finisher in wwe and it didn’t get the win here. But at least Kenny sold it like it was devastating.

It’s weird how I don’t mind them using JR or Goldust but for some reason it’s really weird that they used Bret.

I’m willing to give them a shot. But as someone who’s basically been only wwe for about 30 years it’s gonna be hard.

Moxley makes his in ring debut at Fyter Fest

 

I like Angelico a lot but really hate his look. Same thing with Jack Evans. Fun match though.

 

Moxley/Omega is gonna be an epic match. And then putting over Page as their inaugural champ would be a big deal too.

Need to watch the battle royal, but also feels like AEW is probably gonna do a better job of developing lower card guys than WWE ever has.

 

I've never really loved Moxley, from what I've seen pre-WWE (mostly because deathmatches are very much not my thing) or Ambrose, but I still got hyped as hell during that outro and I'm still pretty excited to see his eventual Omega match. It was a very good show overall, not without some new promotion kinks (some camera work and the non-Excalibur commentary) to work out but an extremely promising start. It's going to be a joy to have two hours of this a week.

Oh, and MJF is going to be a fucking star for them.

 

what a great show. Cody/Dustin was a masterpiece. loved it so much. Lucha Bros/Young Bucks was phenomenal but i thought the false finishes jumped the shark after the double destroyer spot, was certain that was the finish. everything after felt tacked on after that, and the kickout on the spike package piledriver was like c'mon seriously? you could tell JR's old schoolisms were a little riled. Meltzer Driver finish felt like lame shit compared to half the spots that came prior. Omega/Jericho was good and that elbow finish was whatever. it feels like it should be a set up to a codebreaker rather than the other way around.

Mox stuff was awesome and the whole show was a joy for the most part. my gf halfwatched the battle royale with me and she popped for Orange Cassidy and Orange Cassidy alone lol

What ended up being the new Bucks move that they’ve been teasing on BTE? Matt did that weird corner stunner but it didn’t seem like the announcers sold it after alluding to them using a new finisher earlier in the match.

I'm gonna have to rewatch some matches today for the commentary. Our watch party got pretty loud and I know I miss a bunch of great Excalibur lines.

 

I've been watching on and off all day. Just started the Rhodes match. Cody doesn't really interest me with his ringwork but man he's got a great mind for character. I really do enjoy his character work in and out of the ring.

 

Idk if this makes sense but I feel like Cody is good at booking matches but not great at actually performing in them

 

I get that. The beats, and stories of his matches are quite good. But he's just kinda bland at the actual wrestling part of it.

 

Jesus christ Dustin really messed up his blade job. Dude was literally spewing it out of his forehead.

I watch deathmatches and that blade job made me uncomfortable. I honestly thought they might call the match.

 

Every shot of his face is making me gag. Blood is fucking EVERYWHERE. Disgusting.

 

I more happy with the fact that my roommate (not a wrestling fan at all) enjoyed every moment in that show.

 

That was a really good match but honestly I was so distracted by the blade job. It was so concerning.

 

I'm still loling at Jericho saying "lighten up, marks".
