Nah man. Garth, Shania, Faith Hill were all blurring that line long before Taylor.

can we agree that San Diego and Kings of the Weekend are possibly 2 of the catchiest songs blink has ever made?

Kings of the Weekend, yeah, I'll agree on that. The Only Thing That Matters as well

She's Out of Her Mind is fucking crazy catchy. So simple yet so effective.

One thing blink always did great was throw in catchy songs like nobody else. So glad they're back to doing that.

  9. I'm not going to listen to the album again until Friday when I pick up the CD. I'm dying to listen to it again so that's a good sign.

Okay, I love this record, but I think the only one I just don't get is Los Angeles. The lyrics make no sense. The melody is okay. The chorus is huge sounding and Matt sounds great singing, I just wish he had something better to sing. I love the snyth sound, though. That's some sweet progressions and breaks up the album's sound a bit.

Whaaat? Where did you hear that? That's crazy - is this common knowledge?

I used to work for an Alt radio station here in Phoenix and blink headlined our fall festival the week Neighborhoods came out. Tom came to our station, did an interview with our afternoon host (which I got to film and facilitate). Then he and Chris Georggin met with my PD for about 15 minutes where Tom pitched AVA's next single to him. At the show that night my PD drank a couple beers with Tom on his bus and said he only talked about how good the upcoming project was for AVA once again.

Wouldn't have thought it was that fucked up but it was literally a day or two after Neighborhoods came out and he was only focused on his project. At the time, I was just stoked to be a part of it... But looking back on it, especially after this fall out, it just proves Tom used blink for his own gains.

  17. I've heard from multiple people he wouldn't do interviews with radio stations for Blink unless he could pitch / play AVA music as well.

Crazy that the rest of the band would let that slide. Shows the darker side of him - the way those 3 work has been fucked up for a really long time. It's sad, I really hope that isn't how most bands in the world operate. It was so weird to hear that they basically communicated through managers for years.

It's funny, people were getting rattled about the "insincerity" of the songs on the new album, but what part of blink-182 was in any way sincere prior to that? Dudes couldn't get into a room together to record music, but then they'd act like such good friends in various interviews.

It's unfortunate that Tom operates the way he does. I'm sure they all have negative things about them, but man... the more you hear about the guy, the less you want to care about anything he is involved in.

It sucks hearing this stuff about Tom and how selfish of a person he's become when he's the guy who made me wanna pick up a guitar and play in a band. Just very disappointing.

Sad realities of the music business. You wouldn't believe how corrupt music radio stations/record labels still are as well.

The more that I listen to "Left Alone," the more it sounds like an Untitled b-side. It lifts part of the intro to "Asthenia," has heavy Cure vibes that you-know-who would be an advocate of. Then of course it has that monster chorus. Matt is basically yelling out his part and it sounds soooo gooood.

After hearing all the blink drama over the years I figured that is how all bigger bands operate. (Talking through managers)

I watched the Green Day documentary that came out after Billie Joe got clean and was very surprised to find out that they all still just call each other and hangout like friends should. The three of them are still best friends after all these years and after all their success. I wish blink could have been like Green Day in that aspect.

Guys, im on vacation. Here in the beach, and I'm just listening the shit out of this record, and it's so damn good. I don't care about blink's situation. This is a great summer album

I'm surprised but not surprised at all, if that makes sense. I hope to god Tom never rejoins blink. I honestly don't know if I can support an album that has Tom's name on it. Not even joking at this point. Tom is selfish, classless. No personal regard to the success of blink. He's only looking out for himself. No one else.

I can't support a guy like that. I just can't. Regardless if I idolized him as a teen or not, if you act like a self centered individual only trying to better your brand (whether it's Macbeth, AVA, etc.) it just shows a lot about an individual. I'm happy this blink exists without Tom. I couldn't support the band with a clean conscience knowing some of my money would go to Tom.
